A Proper Man for Summer  by Linda Hoyland 4 Review(s)

Lovely, Linda! I was just heading to bed, but I thought I'd check on SoA first...nearly 1 AM as it is, I thought a nice short story would do well to settle me for bed *grin* especially one with the Dunedain! Oh, I love Ivorwen, and how she interacts with, but especially how she thinks about, Aragorn! And of course her reflections on Gilraen, Halbarad and Arathorn are lovely, too. I loved it from start to finish!

Now, before I fall asleep mid-review, I'd better get to bed, LOL. But thank you so much for the sweet story! It fit the prompt very well.

Eru bless,

Kaylee

P.S. It especially fits for one raised in the house of a Peredhel 'as kind as summer'!

A most engaging vignette indeed. I just loved the way you portrayed The meeting of Ivorwen and young Aragorn. Ivorwen strength and foresight is joyously there, as is the sense of hope Aragorn brought to his people.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, I'm delighted you felt I captured a moment which I'm sure must have happened.

Awwww. This is a nice one - poor Ivorwen gets to have her grandson back and finds hope; after missing him and Gilraen for so long. Young Aragorn must have warmed many hearts when he returned to his people, but his own kindred would have especially missed him.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. I like to think that Aragorn had a happy reunion with his grandma!

"Maybe summer will come again for our people" -- And maybe Ivorwen lived long enough to see it.

Author Reply: I do hope that she did.
