A Long-Expected Wedding  by Fiondil 6 Review(s)

Arafinwë dumped cold water over the Elder King? Now that would be a nice story ... :D

Poor Finrod, it must feel so bad to realize that something happened with him and he doesn't even know what! Though I was glad Arafinwë had Almáriel thrown out of the room, she would make it even worse.

Ha, it seems Vairë shares the common opinion of that ugly wedding dress! Glad she did not restore it. And if Almáriel doesn't like that, she can take it up with that particular Valië herself!

So now pretty much all our favourite troublemakers are back together. Let's see if Tirion survives that ...

Arafinwë handled the three new Reborn very well, giving them a purpose to look forward to. I think that is what they need, particularly the two who have been kings before and would feel out of place and useless with nothing to do.

Um ... not sure if it's a good idea if they go shopping all together. I shudder to think of the mischief they could get into by that! And I see Finrod shares that sentiment.

Author Reply: The story of Arafinwë dumping cold water on Manwë is found in my tale "In Darkness Bound". You'll need to read that to find out more.

It was pretty embarrassing for Finrod, no doubt, but at least he's been assured that no one really blames him for what happened and they can all move on.

Giving the Reborn a purpose is very important since most of them are at a loss as to what they're supposed to do now that they've been reborn, especially those who were in positions of responsibility in their former lives.

As for the shopping spree.... *grin*

Thans for commenting, Kitty.

Well, Atya, it's just a couple of days until Wednesday now, so I'm looking forward to seeing what our Reborn will be up to and how the shopping trip goes! I wonder what will be discussed with the queens, too. This whole chapter was very amusing, particularly Sador's grumbling about wishing he could shop for his own gift, lol!

*hugs* I hope you will have a Happy Thanksgiving. I'm going to my sister's, so I'll have to read Wedding on my Nook and probably won't be able to review until we get back. We're going to be gone until Saturday morning at least, so that goes for the next chapter of IDB too...definitely looking forward to the chapters though!

Tye-melin,

Kaylee

Author Reply: Hi Kaylee. We'll see over the next couple chapters how the shopping trip goes.

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving, too. And don't worry, when you get back the chapters will be here waiting. *grin* Thanks for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Tye-melin.

They are all well enough experienced with Reborn Elves to know SOMETHING is likely to happen, and that there's little point in trying to avoid it forever. How better to learn how these Reborn are likely to react to new situations than to get the first situations over with? Heh!

Author Reply: Very true, Larner, and I think that's how Arafinwë feels about it. Best get it over with so they can move on. We'll see just what kind of trouble (if any) these new Reborn find themselves in in the next couple of chapters. Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

I just adore your Namo, I always have and every time he shows up in a story I love him even more. His comment that he had no idea that Vaire even knew some of the terms she used to describe the wedding garment of Finrod was totally precious.

So, a wedding in two days, at least five newly-housed elves of varying ranks ready to be as changeable as the wind, and the usual tensions of a wedding - hell. It's not a wedding...it's a powder keg. Call Olorin - have him make fireworks from all of this pending explosive energy :-)

Author Reply: Hi Erulisse. I'm glad to hear you adore my Námo. He is a lot of fun.

And yes, I think fireworks would be appropriate right now. Of course, you can just make yourself some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the show. LOL! While the wedding is only 2 days away, there is plenty that will happen between now and then to make life very interesting for everyone. *snicker*

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it very much.

Well Castamir has had to put his foot down, again! I Think Almariel needs a long stay in Lorion, these issues she has with Finderato need to be addressed and soon, otherwise she will have no kind of relationship with Amarie and Finderato after the wedding!

The meeting with Arafinwe's brother and his sone went very well, I am with Finrod though with the idea of letting six Re-born and three of them very recent Re-born loose on Tirion.I wonder if Arafinwe can get Re-born insurance, I am sure the All Aman Insurance Company has some kind of plan for it!?

Now to find out just what is bothering Beleg.

Huggs,
Lynda

Let's hope third time is the charm and this posts, other wise I will P.M. you with it!

Author Reply: Hi Lynda. I think you're right about Almáriel needing time in Lórien but I have the feeling Irmo isn't happy with that idea. *grin*

Reborn Insurance.... now there's a thought. Unless the All Aman Insurance Company decides Reborn are acts of Eru and won't pay out. LOL!

We won't actually learn anything more about what's bothering Beleg I'm afraid. Obviously he's dealing with a bad memory. At least Eärnur is there to help him sort it out.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I appreciate it.

Considering what happened during the night, it is no wonder everybody is waiting eagerly to hear about Finrods dream. And quite a dream it was, too! Obviously Almáriel did not care to hear the description of herself turning into a werewolf, and (inevitably) started to scream at Finrod for that, but what can you really expect? When you are dreaming, your controls are off-line and your subconscious comes out to play. And it was rather amusing how Vairë and her people restored the sewing room with one glaring exception: the wedding garb. I suspect only Almáriel likes that particular color combination!

Arafinwë's previous experience with Reborn is quite obvious in his meeting with his brother and nephews. There are no doubt going to be upsets, but those should be survivable. though I find I am wondering about the "bad thing" feels is going to happen during that shopping trip.

And shopping trips can be ... interesting. At least in literature. One truly epic example is Cordelias shopping trip in _Barrayar_, by Lois McMaster Bujold, who is one of my favorite authors. And Aral's reaction to the severed head rolling out of the shopping bag was perfect. :-D Let us just hope nothing like that is on the list of possible gifts for the wedding and begetting day. ;-)

I think that the Reborn in Tirion are approaching critical mass now. Better take cover and wait for the inevitable blowups to happen and the fallout to settle - maybe with a few bottles of wine or (even better) some chocolate. ;-)

Author Reply: Hi Sunny. Arafinwë is becoming an old hand in dealing with Reborn. As for the shopping trip... we'll just have to wait and see. And I like the idea of stocking up on wine AND chocolate. LOL! Thanks for reading and reviewing. It's much appreciated.
