Oh! I'm so glad you finally posted this! *grin*

I do think it stands out wonderfully as a one-shot! And it makes me smile.

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm glad you like this piece of, um, strangeness. ;-)

What a great sequel to "Orcs at School". I almost feel sorry for Deoric and Niarl; that was a really awkward encounter. And Niarl was so right to tell Deoric not to tell Eomer about the orc family; it was hard enough for Eomer to accept that Dunlendings were human....

Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, I think Eomer would have had a fit.

I love your friendly Orcs and it is so refreshing to see an alternate view and this delightful tale also has the valuable lesson that you cannot tar a whole race with the same brush, a similiar theme to my dragon story.

Author Reply: Thank you. I thought that all along, how similar the themes were of your dragon story and Truth be Told, even though the setting, character and plot are quite different.

I'm with Déoric, it is one of the most bizarre thing that someone in Middle Earth can experience. Yes, I won't trust Eomer reaction to this piece of information. And incredible good that there is a wise man that allows them to live in peace so close to his village, a very wise and compassionate man.

Love the inevitable confusion and lack of words of Déoric and Niarl, they didn’t know how to react, what to say. They were totally out of logic with an orc family and how to deal with them.

Author Reply: Thank you, bizarre things certainly do happen!

I love this story I had to read it twice.I am glad that the family found peace and happiness. My you I do have some Sympathy for Déoric and Niarl after all they know what "normal" Orcs are like.To come across a family of Orcs who hate them as well, would be to much for anybody. As for King Eomer he might already know about them. Keep writing for I throughly enjoy your stories.
Love Galathil

Author Reply: Thank you. It's always bothered me, this notion that all orcs are alike, that simply isn't realistic.

I HAD to read this one immediately I discovered it! Oh, too, too perfect! You did properly, I think, to post this separately. Lovely! Check your email!

Author Reply: Thank you. Yes, it wouldn't have fitted into TBT properly. I replaced it, if you remember, with the scene where Deoric and Niarl meet the dying orc.

Lovely little vignette. I sympathize with the orc family - they must feel so lonely.
Thanks for sharing.

Author Reply: Thank you. I suppose it's always hard when you don't fit into your community.

Oh, that was sweet, I am glad that they were able to find a home and safety.

Better not tell Eomer King, but you never know, he might just welcome them too!

Huggs,
Lynda

Author Reply: Thank you, I enjoyed making them meet Deoric. :)

Oh, Valar, Virtuella!!!

That...is the most amusing thing I've read of yours in a while :D And "Orcs at School" NEEDED a sequel! So that's what happened to them! Ha, I knew they'd end up married. And with an orcling! Hurrah :) Good for them! Bahaha...nooo, Eomer King must never learn of this!

Author Reply: Thank you, dear. One has to wonder what will become of that orcling...
