I often wonder why it was Glorfindel and not Ecthelion who was sent back to Middle Earth. Both died protecting their people and fighting against twisted Maiar. But I love this glimpse of Glorfindel's death. Thank you! Author Reply: Sorry its taken a while to get back to you, thanks for the review though! Ecthelion is rumbling away in Valinor plot bunny-esque at the moment, dangerous times.

What a memorial to the seldom mentioned first Balrog slayer of Gondolin! Thank you for this!

These are both very powerful! The last line of the Glorfy one is perfect and does indeed say it all. Author Reply: Thanks very much! I spent ages trying to get the last line right so its nice to know I apparently did!

Ah, Glorfindel. You do a good job of capturing his final moment and the last sentence says it all. Excellent! Author Reply: Thanks for yet another review, I'm glad you thought he came across well - its hard to sum up such a prolific character!

I love the images you present of Ecthelion: stone, marble and flowing water. How poetic and true, and it gives him some dimensionality to his persona which, unfortunately, is lacking in the account given to us by Tolkien. Well done! Author Reply: Thanks for the review, Ecthelion was very fun to write, all the associating images somehow came so easily (which is rare!). Thanks again!

Beautiful ending - I mean, the last sentence. It must have been a relief for him to see them safe. Author Reply: Thanks very much (again) for the review! I wanted to tie things up nicely and solidify what their sacrifices were for, it seemed very Glorfindel too!
