I love the sense of renewal and old grief all mixed together in this chapter. Tolkien in a nutshell.

LindeleaReviewed Chapter: 13 on 2/11/2020
Oh, my, how I love this! Each one of them, with their empathy and their own wisdom. (I could use a little Faramir to watch over my plants... I alternately forget to water them and overwater them...) It is lovely to see the Ent's protection, and Sam's good sense as well.

Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 13 on 1/24/2020
The image of muddy little Faramir with his watering can, wanting to revive the dead White Tree, is just precious....

LarnerReviewed Chapter: 13 on 1/21/2020
Oh, but I love White Tree stories as well as tales of Aragorn and Samwise. Three of my favorites, altogether!

And, once again Sam is showing his innate wisdom, as well as that of his blessed father. Indeed, the soil it sprouted in would help it put out new roots where it is now planted. And LOVE the Ent who saw it growing and sought to protect it. Wonder if it's the same one I wrote into "Murder Most Foul"? Heh! Yes--even if this particular tree isn't within the old lists, still an Ent would seek to see it protected long enough to grow properly. And I'm certain that the fact Hobbits were there to see it replanted in the King's courts would ensure its viability in its new, proper place.

Author Reply: Thank you for the lovely review! I love to imagine Samwise helping to plant the new White Tree. It would have made him happier than any praise or honor.

All three of these are lovely.

Author Reply: I am glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for reviewing.

You bring the worlds to life in these little bits and pieces, so vividly I can see the scenes. Eowyn's hair coming loose to blow in the wind as she talks of good hay for horses, and Faramir's gaze going to the graves. I doubt he ever forgot where they lay. I love her response. Of course she understands, she was on the field during that bloody day and, as odd as it sounds, I'm so glad that she understands in a deeper way than words could say. Faramir needed someone just like her, and aren't they just perfect together?

Oh, but this is proper indeed! Excellent!

Raksha The DemonReviewed Chapter: 12 on 7/3/2019
A lovely little piece of Faramir and Eowyn's married life. I loved the recognition that they are both soldiers.

shireboundReviewed Chapter: 12 on 6/19/2019
she understood as only another soldier could.

That's a wonderful gift for such a wonderful man.

Author Reply: It is easy to focus on the differences between the two of them, but they also had a great deal in common.
Thanks so much for commenting!
