Across Arda's Ages  by Rhyselle 133 Review(s)

Oh my! However I hope this is only ceremonial and after this he will lay Herugrim with the king and use Guthwine?

I suppose Lothíriel and her family are here?

Interesting, but I had thought the title was referring to stitches meaning sewing up wounds...
so if say, Boromir or Beregond had those kind of stitches in those years, and Beregond again 20 years later...
Or Beregond and Damrod your stitches 20 years later. The plot bunnies...

Good thing he knows how!

hmmm...would you really write it like that though? It has been 20 years; Elboron and Elfwine are probably at least 10. Also, at this rate, Eldarion will only be 100 when his father dies, I think. I have them born all nearly at the same time, basically the second generation of the sons of Imrahil. (or even of Aragorn, Faramir, and Éomer, the latter two closer in age, but all of them good friends).

Awwwwwww!

And now I want eggnog! Fortunately I only have to wait about two months!

First, upon seeing the title, I thought somehow Éowyn had come to Bag End. (I have just been reading of her and down South.)

But yes, they didn't eat that stew, did they? But in the book I am pretty sure they did, and even if there was some left and Faramir's men ate it, if he knew about it, wouldn't he have saved some for the hobbits?

Alas! And now I am reminded I would read and perhaps write myself when Théodred and Boromir meet in the Halls of Mandos. And their fathers arrive not a month later. If Denethor ever made it there...
And they would get to see their mothers, again, perhaps. That sounds better. Or Théodred will see his aunt and uncle at least, who will probably be as worried as he is at the state of Rohan.
Fortunately Éomer and Éowyn managed to take care of themselves, with much help from Gondor.

Perhaps Boromir was right to understate it perfectly.

Ooh, I love the chilling (in more ways than one?) end to this. It'd be especially hard, I think, for Estel to understand the way that the years and memories can weigh on an elf, making what should be harmless fun into a dreaded reminder of death.

This was ridiculously cute (okay, well, say "hobbit baby" and I'm going to say "ridiculously cute" automatically, but still!). I imagine he'll feel even more awe, though, when Eldarion's born.

I actually haven't read Fiondil's Elf Academy, but I love the idea of Elves--wherever they are--continuing ancient traditions into the modern day. The appropriation of the cries at the Nirnaeth adds so much more significance, too--both to this and to the original.

While I am not a huge drabble fan (don't care much for poetry either), this was an outstanding series. Many of these shorts should be expanded. Anyway, thank you so very much.
