An outstanding story. I could very well imagine a scene such as this occurring, once the initial pride in learning his true heritage gave way to some serious thought. It is related in Appendix A that Aragorn left Elrond's chambers after learning his true identity, and walked in the garden, and then met Arwen. All true, obviously, but sometime later, the weight of what he had been told by Elrond would have borne down on Aragorn, and he would, given his intelligence and elvish upbringing, had to have reflected on the matter. Good thing Elrohir was there to help him see through to the truth! Well written and a real pleasure to read. Hannon le!

A most lovely vignette. "You will always been Estel. Just as you have always been Aragorn." That puts it in a nutshell. Trust Elrohir to make Aragorn face the truth.

Well done.

Love Elrohir's fierce love for Aragorn. I can certainly sympathize with Aragorn's response to the dizzying news of his father and what's expected of him...that's a lot for a young man to take in and a lot of responsibility to shoulder.

Author Reply: Thank you so much for taking the time to be read and review, LisaG. I love Elrohir, too; Sort of the "middle child," and so empathic! At least my view of him seems to be. :-)

Oh, this is great! I love Elrohir anyway, and he's wonderful here as he reaches through Aragorn's self pity to make him realise what's still important.

One nitpick: Elrohir would have a lot more than three centuries of wisdom and power - he and Elladan are nearly three thousand years old.

Author Reply: Aw, rats... fixed all of 'em but SoA. LOL Thanks, Jay, I picked that up yesterday, and fixed it on NaN, and FFN, but forgot about Soa. Many thanks for reminding me.

Glad you enjoyed it! I love Elrohir, too.... but I do need to practice Elladan. I have a bad habit of not making him three-dimensional because i don't practice with him as much.

Many, many thanks for taking the time to read and review... I appreciate it!

Ah, Just the kick in the butt Estel/Aragorn needed to get over his funk about being misled about his actual parentage!
What are older brothers for?

Author Reply: Exactly! Good ol' Elrohir had just the right touch to wake up our Aragorn.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and review. All the best,
