Woman of the Secret Shadow  by Armariel 2 Review(s)
panzer71Reviewed Chapter: 4 on 9/21/2011
Amazing. What a great twist on the vampire tale. A cautionary tale about seeking what we don't have by trading away the beauty and wonder right under our noses. Staying true to Tolkien and combining a bit of Rod Serling. It truly did seem like The Twighlight Zone in Middle Earth. I will be reading the sequel very soon.

Author Reply: Thank you panzer71! Rod Serling, wow. Well, maybe it is a bit of Twilight Zone, at that. An intense exploration of the dark side, and about wishing to know what is behind the veil. An age-old theme, but I think we all like to put our spin on it. I hope you will enjoy the sequel, which is much longer.

Thanks so much for commenting! I value your input.

Great story! this really evokes the emotions of the main character (sorry, I can't see so can't spell her name) as well as some of her impacts on others as her powers grow and change. I've not read too many of your stories but this one makes me promise to have a look at more of them.
Thanks for your excellent efforts.

Author Reply: Thanks Matt! Well, this one is quite different from any of my others. Much darker. I wrote it for a recent challenge involving the supernatural and decided to make it "halloweenish." My other stories and poems are not total fluff, but do have a more positive and uplifting aspect. But I'd love it if you would look at them also.
