A nice little tale - very appropriate for the season! The weather here has been very nice lately - definitely spring-like - until today, which have been rather grey, and I have even seen a few late flakes of snow falling. but that's springtime for you! ;-)

Author Reply: Thanks so very much, Sunny.

Our weather is as changeable as spring is capable of being. Am some hundred something miles south of my home, so the air outside here is actually warmer than it's been at home, within striking distance of breezes coming right off the Straits. My crocuses were beaten down by wind and sudden hail, and the daffodils were up but not yet blooming when I left home, although they are already past their bloom here where I'm visiting. Last week the days were fair enough, but there would be ice on my windshield when I went to drive home from work at one in the morning (yes, my schedule has been changed AGAIN). A brief rain suddenly has snow in it, which doesn't even survive hitting the ground. The next ten minutes the sky clears once more, and the weather tries to pretend that the sleet of a few minutes past was just a figment of our imaginations.

If you don't like the weather here, merely wait a few minutes to a half an hour or so--it WILL change!

those two now came to walk together in the renewed gardens of Bag End, and at their coming the flowers opened in gladness, welcoming the returned heroes with their own awakening.

What a beautiful image.

Author Reply: I'm honored, Shirebound! Thank you! I reworked the ending a bit, adding to it until I was better pleased with it. But I can so imagine the gardens of Bag End rejoicing to bloom for the return of its beloved masters!
