From Wilderness to Cities White  by Larner 9 Review(s)

Darn it!! Could have sworn I'd hit the back button, as my review obviously isn't about this story, but the one before it.

Let's just blame this on that Sugar Low, okay?

*going off blushing very red now...*

*happysigh*

I think this is one of my very favourite stories of yours. It not only is a wonderful story of an adventure the two young Princes might have had, but is also a wonderful story of another two young boys who called the Citadel home many long years before. It's just a cuddly, comfy, lovey little story and I love it!!

You know...(Shameless hint coming...)...My birthday's not that far away and perhaps a little follow up to this one, like perhaps the day when Eldarion does share his Chambers w/the Owls, might just make a lovely gif...I mean, addition to this particular grouping of stories of yours.

Yeah. Addition is exactly what I meant.

What?

;oD

Hard to believe it's late September, huh? Almost Figure Skating Season and a Pre Olympic one at that too!!

It's hard to believe it's time for that too. Didn't Vancouver happen only yesterday?

Anyway...Just wanted to let you know how much I adore this particular tale of yours and I owe you a couple from this grouping too, but those will be coming a bit later on. Both as they're further on down the list and my phone jack went on me, therefore I have no separate phone line out and have to use the main. Which in turn means I only have online access after 8pm. This however may actually not be that bad a thing, as we now do have a High Speed Provider for this area. I've been dragging my feet by joining them due to the fact they're an independant company and not Bell or the other major Telecommunications Company here in Canada.

The last indy High Speed Provider that was available around here went bankrupt after only two years and left an awful lot of unhappy people around here. Only reason I wasn't one of them, was because unlike the rest of them, I actually looked into the company before deciding. When there's nothing on the Homepage but contact information and a sign up for their E- mail Newsletter, then something's fishy. Pity no one else thought to do that before jumping on their bandwagon, but...Anyway...

Sorry for the ramble, but if I do end up finally getting High Speed, then I'll finally be able to access LJ again. Which as I miss chatting w/everyone over there, would be beyond a wonderful thing. :oD

I'd also be able to stream the Royal Wedding coming up in a month's time in Luxembourg, but that's a different matter entirely.

Anyway, I woke up feeling like I was having a Sugar Low, tested my Blood Sugar and sure enough. Since I don't like going to bed until I'm for sure sure it's up and going to stay up after eating, I decided to come here and re read some of my favourite stories until I test again in about twenty minutes. I know the Grilled Cheese I made myself is working, as I'm already feeling better, but better safe than sorry too.

On that note...As I said, I really do adore this little story and keep coming back to it when I need that cosy, comfy, snuggy feeling. Thanks and ((((HUGS))))

Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed this little mystery, which was quite fun to write. I'll see what I can wrest from the Muse, who's being a bit recalcitrant lately.

And don't worry about the review ending up after the wrong story--I've done the same thing a time or two! I'm just glad you liked it!

I'll be going to the fair on Sunday, and expect to enjoy myself thoroughly. My skating days are well behind me, I fear, although I do still love to swim when I can. The closest I come to high speed internet is whatever I can wrest from my 3G connector, which is faster than dial-up but not as fast as I used to know when I had DirecTV, which was superb service, unlike its successor. My blood glucose levels have been running higher than normal since I was sick a month ago. I'm trying to get it back down, but working the night shift again plays havoc with my body's ability to deal with things, I find.

So glad to hear from you!

Oh, I'm sure that was going to be one extraordinarily beautiful circlet, forged with Dwarven skill and the love of an unlikely friendship. :)

Author Reply: I'm certain you are right. Once they finally became friends, I'm certain the two of them often did such work for gifts for one another with fair frequency. And I'm certain this circlet would be a true work of art.

A loving gift for a great friend. How far these two came.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Yes, an excellent and proper gift for Legolas from Gimli. Thank you so!

The friendship of Gimli and Legolas is marvellous to see! This reminds me of how Gimli made Frodo and Sam's circlets; just knowing what the right materials were for them! I'm sure that Legolas's circlet was a dream! After all, Gimli is one of the greatest craftman/artists in Middle Earth! Thank you for this, and for all of your other wonderful tales! :)

Author Reply: I agree--a marvelous friendship indeed. And I would love to see Legolas wearing his circlet! But then I'd love to see Frodo and Sam wearing theirs as well, not to mention Aragorn wearing the Star of Elendil!

The perfect gift - to honour Legolas' new position and still to distinguish him from his father.

P.S.: "Craftsdwarf" is the perfect description for Gimli!

Author Reply: All Dwarves are expected to be great smiths, each in his own way. I'm so glad that Gimli rejoices to exercise his skill for his beloved friend.

Very nice! I can definitely see Gimli conceiving and working on the circlet. And it would be perfect for Legolas!

Author Reply: Yes, indeed, the idea of Gimli considering how to create the perfect gift for his friend is so very right! Thanks so, Raksha!
