That's lovely. I recently heard a Scottish singer say that lullabies portray the sorrows and fears of the mother and are a reassurance to herself as much, or more, than they are to the child.

I thin you have captured these elements really well.

Author Reply: Thank you very much, I imagined it would be so, and I'm glad it's affirmed by a Scottish singer now =) I imagined Gilraen singing as much to herself as to Aragorn, who could not understand everything of what she is singing about in that time (if he wasn't asleep yet...) In a lullaby, she can express all her sorrows, and remain strong for her child.
