How Fleeting These Moments  by Lady_Roisin 3 Review(s)

Oh, this is so beautiful. I love the idea that Elendur found love before going to war. It is sad how many good men (and elves) died in that war.
Any chance of a sequel? I would like to read about Elendur's and Olotiel's wedding. :)

Author Reply: I apologize for my lateness in replying to your lovely review. I am so happy that you enjoyed the ideas this story presented. Yes, a sequel is in the works and I hope to get it posted sooner rather than later. :-) Thanks again for your kind review!

Indeed these moments of joy are far too fleeting. But they are real, for as long as they last. May they sustain mother and son--and bereft bride to be!

Author Reply: Ah, thank you so much, Larner! Yes, those moments went by too quickly for that family, but I like to believe they truly "lived." I'm working on a sequel to this because my Elendur muse won't stop pulling on my sleeve. I'm so very glad you enjoyed this. Thank you for your kind review.

Oh, this is lovely! There needs to be so much more written about Isildur and Elendur... there's not nearly enough.

I loved the tenderness both father and son show toward their wives (or in Elendur's case, wife to be!). There's a bittersweetness that underlies the story that seems to fit perfectly, because their lives were so hard and filled with tragedy. A story that ignored that would come across as sickly sweet but you hit the perfect balance. I gulped a bit at the mentioning of the comfort children bring when their fathers ride to war, knowing how things turn out for both men. Thank heavens for all the heirs of Isildur!

Thank you so much for this gift!

Author Reply: I am really very glad that you enjoyed this. I remember you enjoyed it when I included Elndur in other stories and since my Aragorn muse has fled, I figured Elendur was a good fallback. Granted my Elendur muse gave me a story I enjoyed writing. I'm sure now that I wrote this there will be more isildur and Elendur stories to come. The Elendur muse is poking me already.

I'm glad you like how I balance the sweetness with the foreshadowing of what is to come. I know it weighs on me. I can't imagine what those women must have gone through. All that waiting and hoping and having them so close when trajedy struck. It doesn't help I've become so attached to the women behind the men either! :-)

Ah, I really think there must be more Elendur and Isildur stories too. I really like them both. :-D

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and kind review. I'm really happy that you enjoyed this. It was comforting to write in a way.
