| A moving story. Lately, I have often wondered how it was that Arwen's heart turned to Aragorn, since she refused him at first. Tolkien seemed to suggest that Aragorn's attire in Lorien was one reason. But clearly there must be more to this. Yet, Aragorn had not yet become King, so it cannot be that his achievements impressed Arwen. If anything, hope for Kingship had diminished after their first meeting. So it must be that somehow, Arwen perceived Aragorn's inner nobility and was moved. You explain this beautifully. A moving tale. | |
