Beautiful!

Wow, Al, this is really good. I never thought about how Galadriel would feel facing her father after leaving him in Aman. Celebrian must have smoothed that road a bit, but Galadriel would not know to what extent, so this really captures it well. Great job!

Beautiful! You captured her fears so very well and I love what she saw when she docked. Nicely done!

Galadriel is a very complex character, and in LotR we see only the peak of a glacier... She is powerful and mysterious there, but it is very nice to see her thoughts and motives.

You don't normally see the uncrowned queen of Lorien as a prodigal daughter waiting nervously for Daddy's verdict; but this story makes perfect sense. I loved the last paragraph!

"If she had known what was to come, would she have remained?"
But if she had known, then she would have had to choose between remaining an
innocent child and wise but weary woman.

For if she had never leave, she would never had known the love of her husband and the birth of her daughter. The joy of her grandchildren and the sorrows of her life that started and now ends in Alqualondë.

Author Reply: Yes, in the end, it was good she was in Middle-earth. She was very much a key figure in the battle against Sauron.

Hmm..if a person seeks forgiveness, this means, at least in my opinion, that said person does admit being guilty. Well, considering a certain conversation between Galadriel and Celebrimbor recorded in "The Lost Tales" , that's certainly an improvement for the Lady of Lothlorien's character.

However, your choice of a topic for this ficlet, meaning the returning home of a prodigal child, whomever this may be, is too beautiful to go unnoticed.

Author Reply: I think alot of women still have that yearning for Daddy's approval, including a powerful woman such as Galadriel. I think we all have a secret vunerable side.

How right that she sees forgiveness there--we all need that! And I do believe he honors her for in the end doing the right thing most of the time! He has no reason to be ashamed by her!

Author Reply: Thanks for the review. I wanted to show a different side of Galadriel. One that was regretful for her past misdeeds despite all the good she has done since.
