Definitely an overwhelming experience for so young and Elf. Love the thought of Luthien teaching him secretly how to throw knives. I had not realized you were not a native speaker of English the first time. A TVI is a teacher of children with visual impairments, and I am trained also in teaching cane travel and how to learn of an environment using other senses. My late husband was blinded in an accident when he was nineteen, and I have many friends who are blind or whose vision is otherwise impaired. And you will find I tend to have individuals with disabilities appear often in my stories. Author Reply: Yes, an overwhelming experience indeed... but I think it was more overwhelming for the Elfling's mother. *grin* Erestor was somehow saved by his youthful ignorance, by his innocence. :) I thought about Luthien teaching him about throwing knives only towards the end, just about where I put that bit of information in the one-shot. She struck me as quite an unladylike lady (LOL) when I firstly read about her in the Silmarillion, thus this skill came around. LOL People say my English is too good for me to be a non-native speaker of it... but I do, and my English is not as good as they might think. It was honed from scrap (almost literally) by extensive self-learning and exercises too... It was not easy at all, and it is not, still. Wow. Cool. :) Got to peak into your stories as soon as I can... Mm. I tend to insert people with disabilities in my stories as well, just to figgure out if they can overcome the troubles I set on them. Cruel, am I not? Hee. Well, at least now I know someone who shares this tendency with me, although it might be a different matter with the reason behind it. - Rey

Haha! I started laughing when Erestor climbed into her lap and the description that followed! Now THAT I would love to see! Cuteness abounding! ;D Author Reply: Thanks for commenting! :D Ah... the joy of childhood ignorance... Unfortunately all children must grow up at some point. But poor Finera... :) Erestor brought home more than skills and sweet memory, though. You will see what he got from this visit in Brother Mine Chapter 6 part 1... in the near future. (:rueful:) Well, in fact, I thought of creating some other companion pieces, an one of which contains that thing (Yes, it's a thing.). Let's see where my muse brings me... - Rey
