Truth Be Told  by Virtuella 6 Review(s)

I love the way you compare and contrast the frustrations of a pregnant woman confined to bed with that of a writer and artist who is new to his craft. :D

Author Reply: Yeah, I was glad not to have to go through that during my pregnancies, but I know of women who were not so lucky. Eowyn, I'm sure, does not respond well to boredom. ;-)

Very, very nice in its simplicity. I loved the doodling.... Bless you for sharing this delightful tale.

Author Reply: Thanks. I like to doodle, too, but not with the same skill...

This is a great chapter. Having a baby turns your life 360 degrees, but it is the must blessed situation in your life (well, you relly don't think that when you can sleep three hours streignt) and is true, when your little one grows and don't need you anymore you feel so sad, you want them to come back to being infants and hold them so tight... Your healer is very wise...

Thank you

Author Reply: Well, I'm quite glad at the moment that my two are getting more independent, but maybe I'll feel sentimental about it at a later stage... ;-) Thanks for reviewing.

What a delightful chapter! From watching Deoric's careful making of the egg tempera to seeing Eowyn's restiveness in her pregnancy and then the conversation between Leofred and Deoric!

It's lovely to see that Deoric is soon going to be a father! I loved his bewilderment at the change in his mother (is there a hint of foreshadowing there? *grin*) And it will be nice to see how his uncle and his new apprentice figure into the equation before he goes out to take up his duties as chronicler.

Loved the touch of him sitting and doodling as he spoke. That's a habit I have as well--and that it was borders of leaves and vines. (I have a little idea for you about that if you are interested. Just let me know! You have no notion of how special this story is to me.)

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing. I'm glad the story resonates so strongly with you, though can't begin to guess why. Do you want to send me your suggestion by e-mail?

Aha! And the title is most appropriate! Excellent transition chapter! A child due in Ithilien, and a second one in Edoras; fok begin to find life once more! Very nice!

Author Reply: Thanks for reviewing. "Transition chapter" describes it nicely. I was aware that it doesn't have much happening, but I needed much of the information as exposition. There'll soon be more action!

Enforced bed rest would not be something that a restless, lively young woman like Eowyn would adjust to very well. Merilwen's frank but gentle discussion was very well written, something Eowyn probably had not considered but really needed to hear, and had no mother to tell her.

I wonder if Eowyn considered, when planning to nurse her baby, getting up several times a night!

Author Reply: Indeed. I wish somebody had told me in advance how little sleep a nursing mother gets! Thanks for reviewing.
