Oh, a wonderful story. I must say it had me smiling, especially your note at the end. *grin*

Thanks for writing, and congrats on being nominated.

Ah--she lost at last--to sentiment! Poor Eowyn. But she won what was most important, and in the end that is what is important. But once Ivriniel is gone I am afraid that dress will be toast! Heh!

Glad I finally had time to finish rereading! As much fun to read the second time!

Author Reply: Thank you, Bonnie! I'm going on holiday tomorrow, so won't be able to keep up with stories. Will pick up again afterwards!

Poor Eowyn, Aunt Ivriniel was indeed a tougher foe than the Witch King!Thank you for a delightful story. If I hadn't been beaten too it,I'd have nominated it for MEFA myself!

Author Reply: Thanks, I'm glad it pleased you.

Delightful - despite having to succumb, I really think Eowyn is the victor here - for does she not now have a wondrous husband, an aunt-in-law who surely loves her, and a king and queen who will, if she needs help, come to her aid.

Loved this! Good luck with the MEFA's.

Author Reply: Thank you. I think in the long run, she'll prefer the sister-in-law to the aunt. ;-)

Oh well! sometimes when the wedding is finished and you are trying to remember what happened, you realize that you have done a lot of things that you didn't planned in order to satisfy your parents wishes, the whole thing get out of your control and you end fulfilling all their dreams, not hardship at the end, you make them happy and you are happy too, because the only thing that really matters is that you marry the person that you love...

Author Reply: Thanks for your wise words! ;-)

Lying, sneaky, sentimental old witch! She knew just wich buttons to push didn't she and I bet she was the one who got Faramir to wear the Waistcoat of Doom!
Beware Maiden Aunts!
I am with Eowyn in burning the darn thing, heirloom or not!
Lynda

Author Reply: Lying and sneaky maybe, but I was hoping to show that she did genuinely feel a great attachment to this project. But you're right, for this kind of dress there can be nothing but a flame thrower. ;-) Thank you!

I see that Éowyn would have brought in some goats after all - even if dealing with the dress would have upset their digestions.

I am sure that once the honeymoon is over, Faramir and Éowyn will do their best to get their hands on their respective wedding outfits - and ceremoniously put them to the torch - just to finish the job Éowyn started.

Author Reply: Yes, that'll be a merry bonfire. Thank you!
