Everything has come full circle, hasn't it? First the husband, now the son is being sent off to lead his people. Sad, exciting, proud and bittersweet. Lovely tale.

As I already told you, this is a very moving and perceptive portrayal of Gilraen. A strong woman that usually gets overlooked in fan fiction. So, I was really glad to read this tribute to her. Author Reply: Thanks so much, Estelcontar. I appreciate your sharing this with me. ~Marethiel

I sternly ordered him to go swim in the Bruinen. *snort* This was a really well-woven short that helped put me in the mindset of widowhood--alternately happy, bittersweet, and with that haunting prophetic note at the end... just perfect! Author Reply: Best, ~Marethiel

Indeed she gave hope to the Men of the West. Loved the argument with Arathorn as well as the resolution of it. He did wrong--there's no question of that, and am glad his men and their wives made that clear to him! Wonderful moments. And welcome to SoA! Author Reply: I'm really yearning to write an Arathorn/Gilraen story... Thanks so much for taking the time to write, and for your gracious welcome. I'm having a wonderful time in this fandom; I've never seen such generous and kind fellow fans! ~Marethiel

This is a touching story, Marethiel! Not knowing how to sew myself, I especially enjoyed all the details of tailoring for a Ranger, which make so much "common" sense. And the argument between Gilraen and Arathorn seemed right for the two people involved... Gilraen being very young, and Arathorn unconsciously acting like a captain with his wife. Gilraen's observations of Aragorn's hands being so like his father's were especially telling and touching. Well done! - Barbara Author Reply: And I'm especially glad you enjoyed my Gilraen and Arathorn. I'm thinking it's time to write about them again... Bright blessings, ~Marethiel
