Elanor's Story  by PipMer 9 Review(s)

No wonder Merry was crying--I wouldn't blame him at all! Poor lad!

And Pippin continues on as the beloved Pippin we know and love, as always concerned for those he loves!

Wonderful details!

Author Reply: Thank you Larner, I'm glad that you enjoyed it.

Pippin is a doll, isn't he? Always thinking of others before himself; that's one of the things that I love about him.

Oh, I can understand very well why Merry wished that this dream would never end!
It was wonderfully described with the sensations coming one after another, and then fading away again when Merry woke up.

Let's hope that Pippin's sneaking abilities are better than he believes. Strider might know how to cure Merry's heart. Or so I hope...

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Descriptions are hard for me to do, so I'm glad that it came across like it did... I must have done my job right :)

Poor Merry! His grief is so fresh and sharp. *hugs him*

Author Reply: Yes, it certainly is. It will get better, though.

Thank you for reading!

I remember this on LJ! I loved it there and I love it here too. I hope you are planning more of this one. This is such a great look at Merry and Pippin in Gondor. Thanks for sharing it and I'm glad you've posted it over here.

Author Reply: Thanks so much, GW. I still have a second chapter that I posted on LJ that I need to post here, and I do plan on continuing the story, if the muse will allow :D

I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.

A promising start!

I loved the name of Merry's son, Boromac and the hobbit-style house with a round door. Old Strider is very thoughtful!

I only wished that Merry would be "merry" again. Hopefully he will be soon distracted when he meets Aragorn and Arwen in the evening.

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea :)

My beta Dreamflower actually suggested the house with a round door... she's full of great ideas!

Yes, we all would love Merry to be happy again. He's in for a rough time, but he'll come out alright on the other side :)

Oh, I'm so glad you've begun posting this sweet story here!! What a delight to see it again!

Author Reply: Thank you, Dreamflower! Hopefully the muse will grace me with the third chapter soon :D The second is waiting in the wings.

This was Wednesday evening, the one evening out of each week that the hobbits spent with Strider, Arwen, and whatever members of the family happened to be present that week. It was the King’s subtle way of keeping his eye on his small subjects, to make sure that they were yet comfortable and thriving.

Oh Pip, what a lovely idea. That makes me very happy.

Author Reply: I'm so glad, shirebound! Thanks for reading, and I'm glad you commented :D

Looking forward to more of this PipMer. Loved the details in the letter. And poor 'not-so' Merry.

Author Reply: Thank you, harrowcat! I'm glad that you liked the details.. sometimes I have trouble writing the details :D And yes, Merry nearly breaks your heart, doesn't he?

Ah, a bit on the melancholy side, which is to be epected of these two at this time of their lives. Glad to hear Goldilocks will have a second child! Wonderful! And love the details given by Merry's son in his letters.

Author Reply: Thanks so much, Larner! The person I wrote this for writes her hobbits at that stage of life, or near to, so I thought she would appreciate a glimpse of their lives in Gondor.
