No Traveler Returns  by IgnobleBard 4 Review(s)

A lovely story, IgnobleBard. I especially like the fact that it is just a normal everyday elf, not any of the royals that we normally hear about.

Nicely done!

Well done! It was very moving... you could just feel the elf's pain and suffering and yet he had that tiny shred of hope to cling to as well. Very nice!

Author Reply: Thanks for your comments, Radbooks. I'm glad you found the story moving. I wanted him to be sad but not broken by his experience.

Rather sad, but reality is reality for these. And he has the hope, and that at the moment is what he does need.

Author Reply: I apprectiate your comments, Larner. I thought it would be interesting to write about what it was like for a regular, non-heoric Elf to face death.

Lovely. Incredibly lovely and incredibly sad. I am not of the ilk to 'forget' the pain in the knowledge of a future happiness.

But I can hope he will forget the pain and have the future happiness. Beautifully written.

Author Reply: Thanks, Agape. I had thought of it as the Elf having to forget in order for his pain to cease, but he will get his memories back once he's reembodied. It's just that he'll be able to deal with them then without pain because he will have moved beyond his grief.
