Awwww Poor Halbarad! LOL What a wonderful little peek into his 'pre-Penny' exisitence, and a good look at why he was so frustrated! ::giggles:: And it was nice to see the 3 of them together in their element, being Men. I loved it. :)

LOL

This is awesome!! If he only knew... :)
I have also been reading your stories "Don't Panic!" and "Okay, NOW Panic!" and those are sooo good. I love the way you portray your characters, and they have so much life in them! Your writing is amazing :D

Keep up the fabulous work!

Ah, the first one already! I remember this one from LJ, but it was fun to revisit all these mishaps Halbarad had over time. The poor guy didn't get paid well for being nice and helpful!

"Now, remember," they had said to him, "No rescuing strange, lost females in the wilds." Famous last words, eh? Penny was doubtless the most strange and lost female Halbarad ever picked up. And one who influenced his life and the lives of his sons quite a bit ...

Author Reply: Exactly so. As I explained on my LJ, I've had more than one reader comment over the years on my having Halbarad say 'why me?' when he first encounters Penny, and this was a golden opportunity to flesh that out. :D

Thanks for reviewing!

Just as funny this time. Ah, Halbarad, poor fellow, he doesn't know the half of what he's fixing to get into, LOL!

Author Reply: Thanks! Yes, poor Halbarad - walking blindly into the weirdest few weeks of his LIFE.

Yeah, these words were prophetic. They shouldn't have teased Halbarad like that. The next time he brought home a stray, they would have a lasting experience *snigger*. I loved the assortment of mishaps Halbarad had. No good deed goes unpunished.

*rofl* Ain't that the truth? lol!
