Dear Virtuella: This is a wonderful story, beautiful in the descriptions and imagery you have employed, and quite emotional, too. It is almost poetic, and you write your descriptions of Faramir's life--especially his love and his future of and with Eowyn. Thank you for writing and posting this fine story. Sincerely, Darkover

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the poetry of the piece.

A beautiful birthday piece; each paragraph an echo. Finduilas cast a long shadow, preserved in the tides and seas and waters and the sea lavender and the blood of her sons, one that lingers into the Fourth Age.

The language and descriptions are exquisite; and I love the connection between Boromir and Eowyn. The title is perfect, too!

Author Reply: Thank you, and thank you for your editorial advice!

What a beautiful gift for our Linda! Definitely perfect! I so rejoice that you have written this, and love the likeness to Boromir he finds in his White Lady! How beautiful! Faramir has all of this to remember and even rejoice for!

Author Reply: Thank you, I do so like a happy ending. :)

Excellent choices for the seven letters, and a perfect progression of images for Faramir's tale.

Author Reply: Thanks you, I was amazed how easily the letters fitted!

this secret kinship of colours

This is a beautifully written -- and woven -- series of scenes.

Author Reply: Thanks, you're right, it rather felt like weaving.

Virtuella, you've brought me out of lurkerdom to say that this is one of the most fantastic pieces I've read in a while. Your lyrical style creates images of great beauty, and I appreciate very much the technical difficulty of what you've accomplished, the intricacy of the echo words weaving the threads of a favorite character's life together and keeping a seamless cohesion among the paragraphs. Well done. Virtuella, you are truly a virtuoso! Anyone would be honored by such a birthday gift.

Author Reply: Thank you, I am flattered that this has lured you out of lurkdom! ;-)
