Orc Talk!  by Kitt Otter 7 Review(s)
VirtuellaReviewed Chapter: 1 on 11/4/2008
I haven't a clue what the word means, unless it's supposed to be troll turd? A very amusing story and written with wit and elegance. I don't noramlly care three straws for Legolas, but I liked this.

Author Reply: Sometimes I think it would have been better off without actually including the word… *sheepish* but yeah, that is close to the gist of it. Thank you for taking the time to read! *g*

Hehehe! It happens to us all. I liked Thranduil here. Well done and quite comical.

Author Reply: Oh, yes, that I can confirm.

Ah, a cautionary tale of the use and power of words - and the father-elf is right: guard against this use of words "when only the squalid sounds respectful", as The Professor said.

Well done, and I'm waiting for more!

Author Reply: That was the goal; it was accomplished?
With gratitude,

Ah, the joy of thoughtless big brothers! Heh!

Author Reply: Better still the joy of naïve little brothers. (sometimes)

This was cute. I'm still not quite sure what it means, but obviously, it is not something one says in polite society.

Author Reply: Thank-you! Um, no it really is not polite...

I like this - the enthusiasm and 'experience' of the young warriors who've never actually seen a battle or an orc seems very real. And how like a child to repeat unfortunate words at the worst possible time! Little Legolas is delightful.

(BTW - what *does* it mean?)

Author Reply: Thank you! I worried the scene with the young ones was too much silliness.
Oh, ah, I do not like to say what it means. One word is troll. The other is waterfall, with some vowels removed. Not a very nice word for a family meal.
I appreciate your comments!

Welcome to SoA, Kitt. This is a cute story. I can see why Legolas appreciates the glimpses of forbidden things he gets from Thindorn's friends. I can also see why his parents don't approve! But Thindorn's enthusiasms and his love for his brother will undoubtedly carry the day.

Author Reply: Thank-you for the welcome and again for the reviews!
