On the Wings of the Storm  by Lialathuveril 8 Review(s)

It can't have been much fun being a woman in those days. I based a whole story on Aragorn's rather tactless remark about Eowyn!I love Lothiriel's reactiion and just perfect they become engaged in a stable and there will soon be the patter of tiny hooves!

Author Reply: Hello Linda,
I never quite liked that exchange about Eowyn between Aragorn and Eomer either. Tolkien was just rather conservative in that way, I think. Perhaps Eowyn had a similar reaction to Lothiriel in this chapter!

Hello! I became aware of your stories a few months ago and I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy and admire your work! Your stories are consistently amazing! Thanks for writing!

Author Reply: Hello Lainey,
thank you for your kind words! I've had lots of fun writing my stories, so it's really nice to hear that I'm able to pass that on to my readers.

Thanks for reviewing.

Oh! I loved this one, especially her outburst and her threat to abduct Eomer. LOL--ain't love grand? Wonder how she will do that --but then Eomer will be a most willing abductee.

The scene with Amrothos, Wuffa, Imrahil was delightful--it just screams re-read! Can't wait to read about the wedding! The last scene was priceless, especially when you brought back that lovely scene back in the second (?) chapter. You're so good with details.

Author Reply: Hello Whitewave,
they might end up squabbling over who gets to abduct whom - although I suppose they could take turns ;-)

And I like to take things up from earlier chapters, so resolving what Eomer said to that little girl has been on my list for a long time.

Now onwards to the wedding!

Hey there, another bloody wonderful installment. Are you sure you don't write historical romances proffesionally on the side? You really make my day,
*squee!*

Author Reply: Hello Galimeril,
no, I don't write professionally - unless I do so in my sleep and haven't noticed ;-) But I might make a foray into original writing with my next project - however, that's not certain yet.

Ah, dear--the audacity and urgency of youth! Heh! And I do think Imrahil GOT the idea! Heh! Wonderful decision to see the marriage made.

Author Reply: Hello Larner,
yes, I think Imrahil did get the idea ;-) Now it's the wedding coming up in the next two chapters and then the story is nearly over. It's a strange feeling!

An excellent chapter, Lia!

I love how Lothiriel stood up for herself and made herself heard. It's so true that the men around her controlled her choices and decisions. However, Imrahil's argument was a good one too. He's honestly looking out for the best interests of his daughter, even if his ways to get there are different.

>>“I will marry Éomer even if…if…if I have to abduct him!”

LOL! :)

Thanks for writing!

Author Reply: Hello Alquawende,
I agree with you that Imrahil in his own way is trying to look out for her. He just didn't realise that he's rather late with his efforts. But I think he sees her more clearly now, how much she's grown up - there will be a little bit more on his motives in the next chapter.

It's good to hear you're still enjoying the story!

“I will marry Éomer even if…if…if I have to abduct him!”

*snickers*

And now I'll go to bed with the delightful imagination of the Princess, hauling the King of Rohan through the stables of Meduseld and carrying him away on the back of Nimphelos like a potato sack.

Beautifully done!

Author Reply: Hello Mona,
that's actually the picture I had in my mind too! I can see her galloping off into the sunset, with Eomer thrown across her saddle, to have her wicked ways with him ;-)

Oh, Wuffa! LOL. From the mouths of babes comes truth.

I absolutely love Lothiriel's threat to abduct Eomer. What a sweet reversal of the usual cliches. Lovely time in the stables. :-)

Author Reply: Hello Daw,
in my experience that kind of thing always comes out, so it was really only a matter of time. And I've been wondering whether I could come up with a scenario where Lothiriel abducts Eomer, but have so far come up with a blank - but I'm still thinking on it ;-)
