Wilt Thou Not Love Me?  by Lindorien 7 Review(s)

Big AWWWWW. Very nice vignette; and I'm so glad that you left the intimate details of the consummation to the readers' imagination. Like Faramir, I was wishing that Boromir could have been there, and rather thought in some way he was.

You have this Faramir-fan's permission to write more stories about the good Captain of Rangers. Heck, you have my encouragement and my plea that you continue to write about him. And anyone else you want to write about as well; of course!

Author Reply: Raksha! How nice of you to read and comment on this. I admit, I have a special place in my heart for this little vignette. I agree that oft times intimate details such as these are best left to the reader's imagination.

I did try to give the impression that his brother stood beside him, seconding Faramir, even if only in spirit.

I hope you enjoy my other stories. Lindorien

At last! I don't think I've ever read ANY story where a man is nervous on his wedding night. I hear so many stereotypes about men being overeager that I could literaly scream! Thank you for this piece.

Author Reply: You are most welcome, Eomer. My husband was so nervous at our wedding that I thought he might faint.

Hmmm...I wonder if there was a moment of prescience there.

Sheesh! Of course, he's nervous. What if he messes this up? Thanks for the review, Eomer. It is very much appreciated.

So very sad all the things that Boromir should have done. Very as the chapter title suggests: bittersweet.

Author Reply: There's a certain finality to Death that is impossible to overcome. Poor Faramir - I've no doubt that scenes much like this one were replayed over and over in his life - at every important moment. For the rest of his life he will turn, expecting to see Boromir, but shall confront only his memories.

You know me. Day 1 I was in the elf camp. But, Boromir? I have always loved Boromir. Flawed but good Boromir. I still cry when I read his death scene. After 30 years of reading it again and again. This was really moving. Thank you.

Author Reply: This little story really seems to affect people. I lost a bet regarding the Stanley Cup finals last year and this was my assignment. I was supposed to do their Wedding Night, but that seemed a tad intrusive. So I did their wedding night, I just left the intimate details to the reader's imagination. I hear from people over and over again on this one. It does seem to resonate. It was rather sad to write, but also sweet. I'm glad you and the others like it so much. Truly, I really am. Lindorien

*weep* *sniff* *snuffle* I'm sounding like a broken record I'm sure, but I really loved that!

It was heartwrenching to reading the list of traditional rites both reverential and rough that Boromir would have had charge of! *sniff*

You write of this relationship so well and with real feeling! Faramir's pain is palpable and the end line was a very good way of ending it! Wonderful! Yes, I know I'm repeating myself again! :-))
