Wonderful and heart-breaking in its shortness. I always liked to see events from the POV of the simple people, but both Boromir and Faramir are wonderful in their supportive ways.

Author Reply: Thank you. It was very different for me to do this from the POV of OC's who, decidedly, are NOT kings or lords of any kind. I did want to play around with the way the people viewed Boromir and Faramir. I believe they were well-loved by the people.

Thank you for taking the time to review! :)

This was a touching story.I first enjoyed reading it at HASA and am pleased to see it here too.

Author Reply: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. If readers say that one of my stories has touched them, I always feel that I've accomplished what I set out to do.

Thanks for the review!

It is all too familiar a story among soldier's wives and families. I suspect this takes place near the time the Steward's sons had to leap from the Bridge in Osgiliath.

Well done.

Author Reply: Yes, you guessed correctly. Though it's a familiar one, I don't think people quite understand how it is to lose someone you love in such a horrible manner -- I don't, if it comes to that, though I do know quite a chunk about losing someone you love (my dad died when I was younger).

Thank you for your review. :)

Speaking strictly for myself, I think it works, and I know all about not having stories end the way I planned. Sometimes the Muse will bop me over the head saying, "No, THIS is the way it happened!" And I think the sadness works in this one. A happy ending would have rung false. Sometimes one must just tell the truth, whether it is pleasant or not...with tears in one's eyes, if need be.

A lovely work and an honest one, thanks!

Author Reply: Someone commented once that perhaps this story wouldn't have been as sad if I hadn't thought it would end happily -- that way, my dreams as well as the woman's dreams were crushed (though of course, mine weren't nearly as huge as hers).

Thanks for the review. :)
