This may just be one of my favorites of your stories. I think that this one and "The Flute" are my favorites. This is adorable. I love Pippin's joy in his new little neice and I also enjoyed how he shared this with Merry. Very entertaining!

Author Reply: *g* Thanks GW! Glad you enjoyed the story. And Pip just has to share it with Merry, donīt you think? I mean its his Merry and it really is sad, when one will never have any nieces and nephews.
I can feel with Merry there!

Emerald has got Pippin wrapped around her little finger! This was flufftastic!

I also really liked the cradle song that you incorporated.

Author Reply: Thanks Celeritas :) Emerald is a Took... that explains everything. ;)

Aw, what a sweet little story!

And I think Larner used the perfect expression concerning cute little babies: enchantment! That's exactly what I felt when the wee little daughter of my friend was placed in my arms for the very first time. So cute! But like Pippin I was a little bit afraid. Now, she's already three years old - and still cute :)

Merry (as Pippin's protector) had to find out that his little cousin was now a protector himself! Well, time is flying! And in the end Merry found himself enchanted by the little baby, too! Very nice and very true!

And, of course, I recognised the song, "Schlaf, Kindlein, schlaf...". Did you translate it? It sounded very well in English!

Author Reply: Glad you liked it Andrea! :)
The song I did not translate myself, but found the english translation of it online. However I found it fitting. Just the last verse...terrible..something with when the child does not sleep and stops crying then the farmers dog will come and bites it dead. :-/

Ah--the enchantment of babies spreads from one young Hobbit to another and another!

Wonderful!

And did you say "pea-butt?" Oookay!

Author Reply: *g* Yep Pea-butt! I found it fitting for the behind of an Hobbit babe. :P
Thanks for reading!

How adorable that Pip was able to lure Merry into enjoying the baby as much as he did.

Author Reply: Thanks for reading :) And Pip is good at luring Merry into something and I guess his niece has the Took Charme as well. ;)
