Oh man what happened to Frodo? I love Aragorn's reactions to what Boromir was saying about the hobbits. Loved the fact that Aragorn thought there was something wrong with his pipe :)

Well, I am a very new viewer! Whatever it is, keep up with that interesting one!

This was a great chapter! I'm shivering myself!

I loved Aragorn and pipe - and what might the Hobbits have done to his weed!
Very nice with Gimli 'immovable as a pillar'
I love Sam's comparing the boulders to something Bilbo's trolls might do! Nice touch!

Good chapter all the way around and the tension built up was great! Can't wait to read the next chapter.

O hurrah, a Budgielover story I've not seen before!

You have some gorgeous descriptions and turns of phrase, as always. I particularly liked this one: stone-sewn landscape

My goodness! No vegetation, no life in the lake... I should think a Ranger would be more cautious.

Augh! Something's taken Frodo! (Shades of the garbage chute monster in the original Star Wars movie... I first began to feel its stirrings when Pippin went after something moving and came up with a stick. "There's something alive in here...!" "Nonsense, kid, it's your imagination...")

Looking forward to more! (Hurrah for time for reading!)

Oh, no! You can't leave them under the water! Where has Frodo gone? He can't still be under there or he'll be dead!

*catching breath* The discussion between Boromir and Aragorn of the Hobbits' "secret language" had me laughing. I never thought of that consciously, and at first I was just as baffled as Aragorn.

As usual, I love your characterizations, and I cannot wait to see more of this!!!
God bless,
Galadriel

An onimous beginning for a very onimous setting ... and the Frodo angst begins in chapter ONE!!!!

Love it already, Budgie! It's great you're back and writing again!

~Elemmírë~

p.s. I'm very nearly inclined to agree with Eiluj about there being two groups in Middle-earth ...those whom Budgielover has incited to kidnap Frodo Baggins, and those who haven’t -- yet

I must add a third group, however, those who love and care for Frodo dearly and wuld sacrifice anything to protect him. :)

Author Reply: And I agree with both of you, Elemmírë. As the writer, I have the enviable position of belonging to all three groups. All this shifting back and forth between mental viewpoints ... my goodness, that explains a lot about my choice of story lines, doesn't it? :D

Oh good another story by you, I love your stories, and look you have already lost a hobbit. Very careless of you. But at least everyone is getting wet, except Gilmi, who is a very smart dwarf.

Author Reply: Hullo, Grumpy! Yes, this story started off faster than I usually do - Frodo being lost/kidnapped/taken in the first chapter. I usually prefer to have more characterization and humor (a.k.a 'relax the reader') before WHAM! But this one just wouldn't wait...

heh heh heh

ElflingimpReviewed Chapter: 1 on 7/9/2007
Alright! what have you done with Frodo?,you better cough him up right now or else!LOL. Good start to the story will be waiting unpatiently for more!

Author Reply: Hi, Elflingimp! How have you been? Funny you should choose the phraseology 'cough up'... Yes, funny indeed... *grins*

What a treat to find a new story from you and what an exciting start !

Author Reply: Greetings, Linda! Thank you, and I hope you find the rest of the story equally exciting. This is going to be a fun one ... for me, anyway. Frodo may beg to differ... *grins*

Sometimes it seems that the population of Middle-earth can be divided into two groups: those whom Budgielover has incited to kidnap Frodo Baggins, and those who haven’t -- yet -- given in to her blandishments to kidnap him.

Poor Frodo: sopping wet and deprived of weskit, jacket, and cloak: not only kidnapped but very, very cold.

Whatever it is that’s captured him, it seems to have eaten everything else that should have been in the water, so let’s hope the Men are quick!

Author Reply: Brilliant synopsis of my writing! *grins*
And a brilliant synopsis of poor Frodo's present situation ... can't you just see the misery in those huge eyes of MovieFrodo? Honestly, why do we do this to him? (Answer: because it's wonderful fun!)
