Awww! *sniff*sniff* :D What a lovely lesson for both father and son. I'm sure Merry did learn all sorts of things. I enjoyed Merry's defense of Frodo to Merimas - how dare Merimas suggest that Frodo was *gasp* wrong!

Author Reply: Yes, we all know that Frodo can NEVER be wrong and certainly not in Merry's opinion. Glad you enjoyed it.

How delightfully literal of Merry! And yet - living your life as if your most devoted admirer is watching you ... what better way to ensure that you never compromise your standards! What a lovely story.

Author Reply: So glad you enjoyed it. I do think of Merry as being a very intense child for some reason and I think that this is the sort of thing he might have done. LOL

That is a good lesson Saradoc learns, and I love how determined Merry is to follow his interpretation of what he believes Frodo told him to do.

Author Reply: Anyone with a child knows how very much they learn just from watching others and the most important people in their lives are the ones they watch the closest. I think Frodo managed to teach both Merry and Saradoc a lesson here. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Oh, what a wonderful project, and how VERY Merry it is! I can see the little twerp following his dad all over the Hall land, constantly keeping watch to see how the Master works at being the Master, and the Master learning to be extra careful in his initial acts so that he provides a proper example for his son.

Very wonderful. Thank you!

Author Reply: As you know, if Frodo suggested it then Merry is bound to take it to heart. And having spent time with children including my own, I know that just when you think that they aren't paying attention, that is when they are! LOL Thank you for reading!

A wonderful bit of doggerel here, GW.

Author Reply: Prologues without any story can be so dull if you don't play with them and the disclaimer just seemed to need a bit of dressing up. Glad you enjoyed it! You've given me a good time today. I've been reading your "Second Mum" story and I have had a lovely afternoon and evening because of it! Thank you!

Wow...that was awesome, GW! This was a lovely story from start to finish --and just in time for Father's Day. :-) I think Merry taking Frodo's advice to heart is absolutely adorable...and just like the intelligent Merry we all know and love. Brilliant!

PF

Author Reply: This all started because I got this mental image of Merry sitting and staring at Saradoc so intently that it became annoying. LOL From that, I got this story and I am very glad that you liked it! Thanks for the part where you use the word, 'Brilliant!' I love that word. LOL

Awwww, that was soooo sweet. I was curious, what could this be? What does Merry want? I wants to learn something from his father, so lovely.
Thank you, my dear - you made me smile.
So I may find other stories written by you here , that's wonderful. Simply wonderful.

Author Reply: Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the review and for reading. And if you are interested then, yes, I have tons of Hobbit tales posted to this site.

LOL!! Now *that* is one original disclaimer!! I loved it!

Author Reply: I keep trying to think of new ways to say the same thing. LOL I may just continue to use this one from here on as it seemed to be more popular than some of my stories! hehehe

He found that if he performed his daily tasks as the Master of Buckland as if Merry might be watching him that he took extra care and considered things more thoroughly.

Wonderful story, G.W.! I had not expected that Merry would take Frodo's advice *that* literally! But in the end, not only Merry but also his father learned a lot!

Thank you very much!

Author Reply: I think Merry was a very determined child and also, if Frodo gave him advice I do think he followed it. I'm glad you enjoyed this one. And I think it's true that if you know someone is watching you think things through more carefully and are less impulsive. (Unless you're Pippin of course!)

ROTFL!!!

Hear all ye people near and far
Of the famous author Grey Wonderer,
Who wrote the bestest prologue there'd be,
But never earned a fee ;-)

Now, on to the real story!

Author Reply: LOL Thank you for the poetic praise. Oh, and wouldn't it be interesting just to post a prologue without a real story sometime? That would keep folks guessing.
