I'm just found this story here, and now I'm sitting on the edge of my chair with shaking hands and... please update soon! Of course I know the story and I also know he will survive, but you have a very artificial way with cliffhangers... Thank you, I love this story and I can't await what happens next!

As always, there is so much depth in your chapters, in the events and in the characters. You are so good at showing our hobbits as both tender and tough. And I loved the hobbit fare that was served to Aragorn and Glorfindel, lol! And thank you for a Pippin who isn't too childish or vague. Your Pippin is properly young and innocent. Wonderfull!!

I'm really sorry that I am so behind my reviews, but be assured that I am still following your excellent story (and will continue to do so). I loved the way you lifted the tension in this chapter with a hint of humour, namely Glorfindel's and Aragorn's reaction to the rather ... eh ... mushroom-centric (is this a word?) dinner. I could well imagine that one inhabitant of Rivendell or another would get fed up with mushrooms in the near future.

Poor, Merry! I guess that first encounter with the Ringwraiths would be a terrible memory! I liked the little converstaing between Aragorn and Glorfindel, I wonder what did happen to the ninth Rider? Are you going to go into that or leave our minds to dwell on it? Even though it was just in passing I liked the discription of the dwarves! Looking forward to more, thank you!

Author Reply: Hi, Hai! I wanted to answer your question on the ninth Rider. I covered that in "Recovery in Rivendell," around the 31st or 32nd chapter, I think. I have more fun in tying my stories together; pulling an element from RIR into OOAK. Though keeping straight what happens first can be confusing...

Thank you!

I don't know how long I can take the suspense of Frodo's illness. Yes, I know Frodo recovers. But even still! You present such a suspenseful, worrying tale that I fear for the ring-bearer even while I know what will ultimately happen. A sure sign of your story-telling abilities. I hope chapter twelve arrives soon!

Certainly a Merry-full chapter, though not a merry one. (sigh) The conversation between a homesick Sam and Merry was heart-tugging; at this point, they thought they had done their part and gotten the Ring to the Elves. Little do they know.
Thank you.

He leaned against his cousin, his anchor in this uncharted sea of Big Folk and unfamiliar things.

I love that line! It is so perfect and so descriptive. The rest of the chapter is wonderful, but I kept reading that one line as it paints such a vivid picture in my mind. You have such a way with a phrase!
