Just read the preview for Chapter 11 - YES!

Author Reply: Hmm ... I certainly didn't expect to find a review *here* for a chapter that isn't yet posted. I am glad, however, that my choice of preview was to your liking :-)

Actually *looks around* this is viggomaniac from "the other site." Will you be updating soon? I love this story. (How do you like my new "original" name?

Author Reply: Nice name :-) And yes, I will be updating soon. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depends on the point of view), my beta-reader suggested some changes to the next chapter that I thought were a pretty good idea. Unfortunately, they required some additional text. But most of that is already written. So I hope that I'll manage to post within a week (depending on my internet connection and the weekend weather ;-)).

Patience, love!

I just discovered this story and am completely hooked! I'm looking forward (hopefully) to another update soon. Is there a way to be notified when an update is available?

Author Reply: Hi there!

Thanks for letting me know that you enjoy my little tale. I hope that I'll manage to post the next chapter by the end of the months.

BTW, storiesofarda offers an author notification feature. Go to the 'Reader' menu after you have logged in (third link from the right on top of the page). Below the list of your reviews there should be a link named 'Request Note'. If you click on it, you get a drop down menu from which you can select an author. If you select an author, you will get an email whenever that author updates one of his/her stories.

If that does not work for you, drop me a note and I'll send you an email whenever 'Doomed to Live' is updated.

Hey, I'm so glad you updated! I really enjoyed the character interactions in this chapter. It's interesting to see how the Three Hunters might have turned out with a slightly different character composition. Boromir is intriguing; it's interesting to see how he gets along with Legolas and Gimli. Gimli is a hoot; and Legolas is very distinctive. Sorry to hear it'll be another two months before you surface again, though.

Author Reply: Hi, meckinock! Thanks for the review. And I am glad that the chapter worked for you. Tweaking the original text to fit the different characters was a major pain. I try to work steadily on the next chapter and so far, it is behaving well ...

Cheers,

Jumping up and down for joy at the update but stomping my feet and screaming in frustration at the (again) evil cliffie.

Thanks for filling us in on the Three Hunters and really looking forwards to Boromir meeting Grima.
" ... the grey cloth that had caught in the branches, torn and bloodied, a forgotten banner, the remnant of a lost battle that fluttered in the chill easterly wind." "But where are they now?" My question exactly ...

If, at some point in the future, you hear a very loud shriek, it is me falling from this cliff that I've been clinging to for the last 4+ months - I'm holding on by my shredded finger nails, have some pity.
But truly, whenever you get to it, I'll be here.

Author Reply: Hi, AM *waves* Thanks for the review!

I, too, am looking forward to Boromir meeting Grima, though I have no idea about the outcome. Boromir has proven to be one unpredictable fellow.

As for my cliffies: you know that story from the Silmarillion about that poor Elf that got chained to a cliff? Now you have some first-hand experience on how he feels *bveg* Or you'd have to take it from an athletic point of view ... But I'd rather not have you let go, so I'll try to hurry.

Cheers,
fliewatuet
