Very nice. Elladan in big brother mode, and Elrohir not being very patient. Glorfindel there to help as well.

A nice piece.

Author Reply: Sorry I'm late in replying!

I like to show Elladan in big brother mode - it's not often he can get away with it :>)

It's a good sign when Elrohir's an impatient patient. It shows he's feeling better!

Phew - the situation has improved appreciably! Glorfindel, a healer AND supplies. Now they just have to get Elrohir fixed enough to take him home. And Elladan's anatomical observations are very reassuring - even if he is still able to drug his bemused brother. (Still. Elrohir's not at his best and sharpest. Yet.)

Author Reply: No, Elrohir's still not at his best; but he's improving rapidly. He'll soon have a lot of questions for Elladan about how he came to find him.

I just love Glorfindel. Whenever I write him he just seems to leap onto the page and take over!

I am glad that at least they were under cover all this time, while words returned to you! :-) Seriusly, it was a long list of injuries and aches, Elrohir us truly battered this time, good that Glorfindel is there, or Elladan would have been in a very difficult situation. When ELrohir feels better he will love to hear how Elladan went away in search of him! :-)

Author Reply: I'd feel bad if poor Elrohir had been out on the mountainside for all this time! At least he's safe and cared for - and will have a lot of questions when he wakes up again.

Thanks for reviewing - and enjoy Epiphany!

Jay, that was such a great surprise to finally find an update of this story!

Though I had hoped it was ‚only’ Glorfindel, I am glad to know he *is* it. He seems to have been riding very fast to be here already. Now I feel much better for the twins.

Love the banter between the twins, Elrohir accusing Elladan of being a bully and all that – I think it is the first sign that Elrohir is getting a bit better.

Oh, I felt so sorry for Elrohir when he admitted he could not move his legs. Considering the circumstances, it is understandable that he didn’t think clearly and was so terribly worried. Poor guy. I am so glad Elladan was able to convince him all will be well, even if it takes a little while.

Now I hope you have your muses firmly locked up, so they can't escape and leave you with this alone again ;-)

Oh, and a Happy New Year to you!

Author Reply: A long overdue update, but it's here at last!

I love Glorfindel. I don't write him very often, but whenever he appears he just leaps onto the page and takes over as a tower of strength to everyone around him.

Poor Elrohir. I think most of us would fear the worst if we could not move after a fall like that. But if he can grumble at Elladan we know he'll be OK :>)

I'm tempting the muses with short snippets of writing to keep them happy. So far, it seems to be working!

Well, the words came fluently when they got started! Great chapter. Cheer up, Jay, and give us more when you can. This story is a keeper.

Author Reply: Thanks! I'm pleased with the way the chapter finally came out, and really glad that I managed to update before the end of the year!

Now that the muse has returned, I hope to get the next chapter out a little more quickly :)

Poor Elrohir! His thinking is not quite straight yet. It's cute that his grouchy attitude is the thing to let Elladan know there is no serious damage.

I think I recognize Ilmarin. Wasn't he in "A Journey of Discovery"?

Hopefully, Elrohir will be in a better mood once his leg is splinted and his back does not hurt so much. Such deep bruises could take a while to heal.

I wonder how they are going to get Elrohir home. It could be tricky when is he not able to move around much.

I think I particularly enjoyed the closing scene. Elrohir calling Elladan a toad was just priceless!

I wonder if Elrond and Celebrian could feel anything when Elrohir was hurt. If so, they must be frantic by now. Hopefully, Ilmarin will make it back quickly to tell them the good news.

I think the chapter was well worth the wait, and I will be looking forward to the next one. Hope you have a Happy New Year!

Author Reply: No, poor Elrohir still isn't thinking straight, or he'd have realised what Elladan was doing. With rest and sleep he'll soon recover, though - which is a good thing. As Elladan said, he makes a very bad patient! Calling Elladan a toad was quite mild considering what he might have said :)

That's well remembered about Ilmarin! I tend to recycle minor characters from other stories - after all, the same guards would be around for most of the time, and it saves the trouble of finding new names.

The words may have taken a while to come, but when they did, they were worth it, Jay. Really nice job showing how each of the two brothers saw events and felt about them and one another.

Author Reply: Thanks, Daw! I've rewritten some parts of this chapter several times, and stared at other parts in despair, wondering how to progress the story. I'm glad you like the final result!

Happy New Year,

Jay

Oh! *jumps for joy*

I had been DYING for an update of this tale! Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a beautiful chapter! I am so glad that the presence outside the cave was Glorfindel - not wolves, or worse: Orcs! I had hoped it was Glorfindel, but my stomach was nonetheless in my throat, fearing it was something else!

It's good to see the banter between the brothers - poor Elrohir, having to have his leg splinted on top of all the pain he already has. I'm glad that Elladan drugged him!

It's such a relief to have Glorfindel there, too. When Glorfindel comes, it's like everything is going to be fine now.

Thanks again for updating this tale, Jay! Might I ask for more soon?

Happy New year!
Esteliel

Author Reply: Thank you - I'm glad it was worth waiting for :>) Thank goodness the banter worked - the whole chapter has been a real struggle!

Hopefully you won't have to wait so long for the next chapter (and neither will I ...)

Happy New Year to you, too!
