Good story! :-) Thanks for writing, I enjoyed it!

Author Reply: Thank you so much. This story started out as a one-chapter fic, then somehow grew and grew.

That was a lovely read. My reviews may seem repetitive, but I did indeed like this story. It touched me very much, and I like your title. It fits perfectly. Wonderful job!

Author Reply: Thank you so much! I'm very happy you enjoyed this.

(If Faramir is your favorite, another story of mine you might like is "Reunion in Minas Tirith".)

I had to laugh at the Hobbits bequeathing the best of the Shire to those poor Rohirrim - their cuisine! Perfect.

What a good way to end, everyone trying to tie up their loose ends, finding resonance with each other's experiences (Ring/Palantir addiction, the two noble Hobbit knights, "I had to ask one more time") - and then back to Bilbo, where it all began...

Author Reply: Thank you, Aprilkat. I do try to tie up loose ends whenever I can. Lucky Rohan, getting Shire recipes to help in their post-War healing!

Author Reply: I agree about happy endings! I think 99% of my stories end happily.

Thank you very much, dear Julchen. *lots of hugs for you*

*sigh* I've kind of been putting off reading this last chapter... to make it last a litle longer. But I finally have a little uninterrupted time and read it. It's so good! I love the fond, slightly funny farewell. As dreamflower said, it was emotional without being maudlin.

Favorite lines:

“They really need them,” Frodo said firmly. “I don’t wish to disparage the cooks at Meduseld, but...”

“And better dressed,” Pippin grinned, straightening Frodo’s velvet tunic.

and finally

The hobbits embraced him, then stepped back and bowed in unison.

“None of that, you rascals,” the King chuckled. “Go on, now.”

“We’ll miss you, Strider,” Sam said for all of them.

“And I will miss you,” Aragorn said fervently.

Oh... and just about every other line, lol. Wonderful. I'm just glad I have a new Quarantined story to look forward to... and talk over with you.

Author Reply: Thank you so much, I really appreciate seeing the lines you enjoyed. And I can't wait to see *you* in person! :D

Drat! The story ends - it was such a lovely tale and I've enjoyed every word. *sigh* Parting from Aragorn must have been very difficult for the hobbits and is one reason why I like to write about them keeping in touch.

Thank you for this, Shirebound. Another wonderful visit to Middle-earth.

Author Reply: Thsnk you, BB. How I love writing about our hobbits. And I always bounce with delight every time *you* gift us with another wonderful visit to Middle-earth! :D

The Hobbits parting from ARagorn must have been very hard. When I first read the book,it was an edtion without the appendices to tell me that threeof them remain friends with Aragorn for always,

This has been a most enjoyable story, thank you for all the pleasure you give !

Author Reply: I didn't know there had been any editions without the Appendices! They really enhance the story, and fill in so many gaps.

I'm very happy you enjoyed this.

So--Rohan needs new recipes, does it? Interesting! And Frodo and Sam refuse any further honors heaped on them. Yes, typical of them, I'd think.

And am so very glad Merry doesn't regret swearing his fealty to the Mark.

Now, indeed, to go home.

Lovely tae, Shirebound.

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner. Yes, it's time for our hobbits to finally head for home.
