Light out of Darkness  by Antane 6 Review(s)

*hmm...happy sigh* A lovely start to a New Year.

I especialy loved.....

they two regarded each other for a long while, the younger guarding and nurturing the guttering flame of the elder, loving it back from the brink.

"In all of the ages I have lived," Gandalf mused, "I have not seen the like. Again, Eru shows His glory more through the small than the great."

A sweet tale! So nice to see you back again.

A gentle moment. I doubt either then came that much awake, but it's definitely in character for both to react as you show them reacting.

And I certainly love the gentle affection offered by King and Wizard.

Author Reply: Hannon le, dear Larner! I figured if they ever came awake it would be in the beginning but I think you're right. I've told others that in writing Via that I told Frodo what I was going to ahead of time and asked his help because I wanted to do it right. I feel rather detached from the story as though I am simply writing what he tells me he felt and I am not creating it at all. I've never felt that before. I am honored by his trust in me and so feel as though I am too close to betraying it in this story (if not actually crossing the line) because he's told me it really didn't happen this way. Parts I think could have but not all of it, like his depression already setting in and such and not sensing Sam so much, though I don't doubt the Ring did its best to isolate him.

Namarie, God bless, and Happy Yule! - Antane :)

The anguished hobbit’s soul reached out to embrace all three loves, devouring the light as only a person who has walked into blackest night could

This is beautiful, Antane.

Author Reply: Hannon le, shirebound! I was pleasantly surprised to see your review since this isn't fluffy! Happy Yule! (a little early).

A/N: "Well, I'm back." I've been so wanting to say that! :)

Yea! :) Welcome back! :)

I love the calling back. It's all fabulous, but Sam's voice is just spot-on! I've probably said that before, but oh well--this time I'm hearing the Sam from the BBC radio drama.

I also love the tending and the reassurance. Our poor dear, trying to drink much too much at once. They both would have had to have only a little at a time, gradually increasing the amount, so as not to be sick.

And I love this:

The king smiled. He placed Frodo gently into Sam’s arms. The two curled around each other, sighed, then slept contentedly.

"In all of the ages I have lived," Gandalf mused, "I have not seen the like. Again, Eru shows His glory more through the small than the great."

Aragorn sat back to keep vigil. "We have been doubly blessed."

Gandalf sat beside him. "Indeed we have."

So sweet! What a perfect ending. And now I'd better get back and finish your story so I can post it tonight. I've finally been inspired, largely thanks to those stories you sent me today. :)
God bless,
Galadriel :)

Welcome back from your fast, Antane!

Aragorn was about to reply when there was another voice. Come on, Mr. Frodo dear. It’s all right. You’re safe now

Ah, that's different--I like how you have Sam being the one to ultimately encourage Frodo to stay. Actually, it was an interesting take all around, by having Frodo and Sam awake for the most part after their rescue, most especially when Aragorn went to remove Frodo's cloak. That part choked me up, I must say.

I hope you become inspired to continue this, but I'm sorry to say I can't help you with any ideas myself right now, as none have come to me yet. If I think of any, I'll be certain to let you know.

p.s. Thank you so much for my Christmas ecard!!! I LOVED it!!!! That picture was so very cute, that I want to see if I can print it. And your message ... Hannon le.

I hope you and your family had a blessed Christmas, my dear, and a wonderful New Year to you as well. May it be filled with His Love, Blessings ... and Hobbits, of course!

Author Reply: Hannon le, my dear! I'm not sure if I will continue - see my reply to Larner. I may even remove the story but I haven't decided yet. Glad you liked the card - it was cute, wasn't it? Love Frodo's expression. :) And may you also have a very happy, hobbity New Year too! Happy Yule!

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
