Remembering Anew  by Pearl Took 9 Review(s)
Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 5 on 2/9/2007
Now that was one book sale I would have loved to attend! I wonder if Merry and Pippin were watching? I wonder how many of those that purchased the books will be convinced?

This description really got to me and I found it so captivating that I had to copy it here and say so. This is a great image. Before a single page was filled, the Red Book, new and waiting to be filled with Bilbo's words and later Frodo's and Sam's. Wow, just wow.

(Always in his mind’s eye he saw Bilbo ordering the red bound book of blank pages then beginning his labor of recording the story of his journey, “There and Back Again”.)

Author Reply: Thank you, GW! That was one of those wonderful serendipitous events brought to me by my muse. I'm so glad you liked it :-)

I know some will be convinced, but even I don't know how many will fall on either side of the debate.

A rough go it will be, but so battles for truth always prove. But it will be well worth it, of that they may be certain.

Author Reply: Thank you, Larner :-) Yes, the truth is often painful.

Sorry about the blank review. I hit the wrong button.

I certainly enjoyed this chapter. Jebbin's very courageous to stand up and declare the truth, despite what's popularly believed. I can imagine frodo and Sam would be so upset by the twisting of their story.

Author Reply: I deleted the blank review :-)

Thank you so much, mews, for leaving responses :-)

Yes, I think it would be very painful, especially since (as is kind of brought out in one of the earlier story and in the prologue to this one) their part in the Quest has become extremely down played.

BodkinReviewed Chapter: 5 on 2/8/2007
I do feel huge sympathy for Jebbin et al. Yes, the message they wish to promulgate is the truth - but they and their families are going to suffer for attempting to shatter the delusions of the comfortably ignorant hobbits.

And the intermittant presence of the Travellers themselves isn't going to make it any easier. Any suggestion that the message is being reinforced by the word of those who were there, and who have long since passed beyond the circles of the world, might well get Jebbin and Other shut up in the Shire equivalent of the insane asylum.

Author Reply: Those thoughts occurred to me as well, Bodkin. They are going to have to use a great deal of caution.

My muse finally relented and I know a bit more about what has led to this mess, the lads and their wives have a battle on their hands, that's for sure.

Thank you so much for reading this, Bodkin, and for your insightful comments :-)

Oh...wow! This was excellent!! Everything about the fair was crystal clear; the people, the sounds...the smells. Okay, I couldn't *smell* anything, lol, but the words were so detailed and smooth that my imagination took me right there to the fair to witness Jebbin hawking his book and the crowd reacting to the Real Truth. This was fabulous, Pearl--as Gandalf once said, 'The chessboard is set...' The suspense is going to drive me nuts until the next update, lol. Hurry! :-)

Author Reply: Thank you, Pippinfan :-) I'm so glad that I was able to take you to the Festival! I'm hitting another slow spot just now but I think that will change. Hopefully I won't keep you waiting for long :-)

The battle for the Truth had begun.

Wow! Great chapter, Pearl.
How clever of them to sell those books at the Harvest Festival. Jebbin did a great job to arouse the curiosity of all hobbits within earshot.
And now the battle begins ...

So, Frodo, Sam and Bilbo have not yet been allowed to come for a visit? But that's no final decision, is it?

Author Reply: Thank you, Andrea :-)

It 's a good way to get everyone's attention :-) No. We'll have to wait and see who all gets to show up in this tale.

Hobbits turned to one another to start working through this. It was a great amount of new ideas for them to take in all at once.

It really was! I'm very curious to see how 'the Truth' affects the Shire, and those who learn of it at last.

Author Reply: Thank you, dear mentor! I am too :-) Though I recently was gifted with more of what is ahead, there is still much I don't know myself

CuthalionReviewed Chapter: 5 on 2/7/2007
Absolutely wonderful. Jebbin is truly courageous - but there will be a riot among all those teachers and tutors who suddenly find themselves confronted with the uncomfortable truth theory that all they've been teaching for ages was rubbish. I'm eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

Author Reply: Thank you, Cuthalion! There'll be something happening, that I can guarantee! I'm working on getting the next chapter(s) written :-)

The eight copies were gone. Jebbin kept his original.

The battle for the Truth had begun.
Dunnn duuunnn DUUUUHHHNNNNNNN!!!

ooOOOOOOOOOOoooooohhhhh!!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! This is going to be a very interesting time for the hobbits. I'm proud of Jebbin, and I'm so thankful that I prodded your muse to continue the original story! :) This story just gets better and better with every chapter! I can't wait to read what happens next, tho' I fear it will be ridicule and torment mostly. I do believe some will belive outright, and some will want to believe but lack the courage to make a stand. I'm still bouncing in anticipation for the old Windbag to get his comeuppance... oh and PLEASE tell me that Merry and Pippin make a Grand Appearance, visible to ALL HOBBITS!! ::claps hands excitedly:: Yes yes!! oh, wait... I'M the reader and YOU'RE THE AUTHOR. Shutting up now. :::giggles wickedly:::

Author Reply: Yes, dear Daynawayna, let's keep our rolls straight here. hehehe

I'm just hoping I keep this at an exciting/interesting level so as to not lose my readers.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing :-)
