Erestor in the Dock  by Fiondil 10 Review(s)
Midnight PromiseReviewed Chapter: 1 on 5/28/2009
LOL! I was laughing so hard when it got to the part with Erestor's wages! Perfect ending!

(In five centuries Erestor had only known the golden-haired elf to wear these particular robes once before.)

Will we ever learn of that experience. . .? o-o;

Awesome little ending to the previous story, great job. :-)

Author Reply: I have no idea if we will ever hear the story of the last time Glorfindel wore his robe-of-state, but you never know with the Muse. *grin* I'm glad you enjoyed this. So many people wanted to know what happened to Erestor once everyone returned to Imladris that I was impelled to write this (and I wanted to find out, as well *grin*). Thanks for reviewing, MP. I appreciate it.

okay, I finally got around to reading this after finishing the preceeding and LOL! I just LOVE this! Your Erestor is excellent. Can I have him? *grin* Now get busy writing the rest of that romance! I NEED an Erestor romance!

*smile*

Author Reply: I'm glad you finally got around to reading this and enjoyed it. No, you can't have my Erestor and if you need an Erestor romance, write one yourself! I'm too busy right now. *grin*

Poor Erestor! They really had him believing he was finished in Imladris, didn't they? But I loved his honest answer. I'm glad he got his promotion, too. Good story idea and good characterization.

Author Reply: Thanks. Lots of people wanted to know what happend to Erestor when everyone got back to Imladris and I could just imagine all the fun they had cooking up this little scheme beore they got there. LOL Glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for reviewing.

Fiondil, I have recently reread all your stories (in order, especially the ones taking place in the Halls of Mandos) and somehow I failed to connect the Eluwen recovering in Mandos with the Eluwen that, with her husband, trailed the twins on their rather adventurous trip across the mountains. *wails* She died later? *sniffles* I have a rather small request...could you somehow see your way to write her being reunited with Thandir at some point in time...whenever you get finished with Thorongil and Glorfindel? (which I dearly love, btw, but have been a bad reviewer...actually, MIA would be appropriate for me lately.) *sniffles again* I can't believe she DIED! Anyway, when you finish with your other WIP's, I'm sending this sad little bunny your way...looking for a happy ending, as it were!

Linda

Author Reply: Hi Linda, I wondered how many people would connnect the two Eluwens. My beta-reader cried, too, and wondered what had happened to Thandir, as well. Perhaps I will write a short little piece about their reunion. We'll have to see. I, like Lord Námo, am a sucker for happy endings anyway. *grin*

Oh, cool! Nothing like being formal and refraining from smiling for scaring people ;). I liked it, but now I have read all the stories you've posted! So it was almost disappointing in a way. Oh well, I'll just have to eagerly await the next update of Elf Interrupted *grin*

Author Reply: I had a lot of fun with this story, keeping it in Erestor's POV so one is never entirely sure if Elrond is as serious about the "trial" as Erestor believes.

Sorry you've run out of things to read. *LOL* Don't worry, though, I update "Elf Interrupted" every week and am presently working on a sequel to "Tad Edehl a Firion" in which Aragorn as Thorongil goes to Rohan to take service with Thengel. When I've written far enough ahead in that story I will begin posting it and that should be rather soon.

Oh, excellent. I love the friendly torture of Erestor - now that he knows it's only teasing. He's a brave elf to face down that assembled and very formal court.

He was right, though. And sensible. And the reason that Elladan and Elrohir managed to escape their not so excellent adventure with their lives.

A most enjoyable story, Fiondil!

Author Reply: Glad you liked it Bodkin. Friendly torture.... hmmm.... never thought of it that way, but I do know that Elrond, Celebrían, Glorfindel, and the twins must've had lots of fun coming up with the details of just how they planned to "punish" Erestor for what he did.

Oh how nice Fiondil, Boy you had me going there for a minute. Anyway it was nice to see Erestor front and center, hope he continues to pop up in your stories.

Post soon,

Eliza

Author Reply: Half the fun of writing this piece was to make it look as if Erestor was REALLY in trouble and to make ERESTOR think he was in trouble, as well. I'm sure he will show up again in one story or another. He's too good a character not to. Thanks for commenting.

Thank you for letting us know what happened to Erestor!

Well done!

Author Reply: You are most welcome. I didn't want anyone dying of curiosity on my account. *grin*

You had me (kind of) in the beginning but I thought Naaa! Elrond will be happier he did that because his sons are still alive, and besides what would he do without Erestor!

Author Reply: I'm sure Erestor thought it was for real up to the very end, though, and everyone was counting on it.

AHHHH! you reallly had me goin there for a minute;I squealed loud enough that my cat jumped ! I loved it, thanks for letting us know what happened to our favorite (well, mine, anyhow...) Councillor after the excitement of the Twins' misadventures died down.....

Author Reply: You're welcome. I hate loose ends in stories myself, so I knew that this one had to be written. I have the feeling that on the way back to Imladris, Elrond and Glorfindel (with a little help from the twins, no doubt) cooked up this scheme of putting Erestor on trial, though the outcome was assured from the beginning. They all must have had a grand time planning Erestor's "trial".
