Yes, the coming of the granddaughter unlooked for would be such a moment of joy for these. I love it!

The writing is exquisite, French Pony.

Well, I admit the title is what first got my attention. But, I read this because it has Celebrian in it and at a time where very little is written.

Very well done and interesting approach to what it could have been like for her. Great descriptions, fascinating circumstances and journey. The driver character stood out for me. I loved the family interaction. All women bereft of their husbands should be treated so kindly.

So, a trepidatious Celebrian has arrived to be welcomed and I am very curious where everyone will be going from here.

What a great beginning! First, you put Irmo and Este into the story, and they are exactly as I pictured them to be. And better yet, you brought not just one but four of my most favorite elves into the story. Findarato is wonderfully sweet and gentle, and you showed his deep love of his sister so well. Here is one of the most, if not the most noble of Tolkien's characters! I have always admired Finarfin and Earwen, though very little is written about them, far too little in my opinion. I love what you said about Earwen's hint of mischieviousness. I picture her as being just like that myself. And Finarfin's embrace and joy, ah, beautiful! Yes, that is Arafinwe alright! I do hope they continue to play a part in the story! I eagerly and impatiently await the next chapter.

Oh - lovely! Such an interesting perspective on the story. I love the way Celebrian stirred to awareness at the scent of cherry blossom - and that the repetition of weaving soothed her and helped her recover. Watching her goggle out the carriage at the size and splendour of Tirion was most amusing - who'd have thought that Galadriel's daughter would be a country cousin come to the big city - and to be greeted by Finrod (who must understand better than most what she has gone through) and embraced by her grandparents must have been such a comfort. I look forward to seeing how this goes!

Wonderful beginning! I particualrly liked Finarfin's last words. Indeed his family is returning to him bit by bit after such a long wait. Not easy for any of them.

Regarding the formatting... if you check back to editing after preview, you can erase the doule paragraphs easily, because they will show on the editor. IT takes a bit longer but the result will be far easier for the reader... ;-)

This is an excellent start. Celebrķan is still a little hesitant and uncertain, but there is a strong will beginning to show itself again.

I've read several stories about the aftermath of her attack and the prelude to her sailing, but nothing that actually deals with the process of her healing. I look forward to more.

Finrod, Finarfin, Earwen, Celebrian... in one story... about something I have often wondered about...and an effortless pleasure to read.

Finarfin and Earwen I had guessed but Finrod was a very pleasant surprise (considering I have read nearly everything on the internet with him as a character and was not expecting him in this one). The reunion was outstanding. You covered a great deal of ground with elegant efficiency.

For some odd reason, I have never pictured Celebrian as especially beautiful but your picture of her has replaced that misconception. I am eager to see how you flesh her out.

To what muse do I send the Krispy Kreme doughnuts?

I have to do this quickly because I'm on a shaky wireless connection in a hotel in Texas!

It's hard to realize how complete a change this was for Celebrian. I admire her courage.

Aw! I loved that, is there gonna be more,it would make such a neat story if you went on but that is always what I say when they are so good! Sob!

Now surely you know that any story that has Finarfin *and* Finrod is okay by me. ;)

It's a lovely first chapter, with believable but not sickeningly angsty emotions. I like the hints to the deeper past: the dolphin fountain, Celebrian's memories of her children when they were small, the kumquats in the courtyard. (Weren't there also kumquats in the courtyard in "Fire Ascending"?) And you write nobility very well--quite differently than me--but some of the most believable of any author that I read.

I look forward to further chapters!
