Anticipation  by Elemmírë 7 Review(s)
Queen GaladrielReviewed Chapter: 1 on 12/1/2006
*chuckles* Oh yes, the delight of anticipation. We never really grow out of it if we stay young at heart, do we? :) I always think I have, and I never have yet. And this reminds me that Christmas break is coming! *FINALLY*! *YES*! :)
God bless,
Galadriel

Author Reply: LOL! I totally agree! It seems we plan and plan for what seems like ages and that The Day will never come. But then the month actually arrives ... then the week ... then at last, the night before. I'm always hyper as can be those last few days before a long-awaited trip. I was literally bouncing in my seat that night at work, for I couldn't wait to be off and pack! I wasn't busy at all that night, so I had to channel my excited anticipation into this fic, instead of my work. LOL!

Then, before you know it, you're on a whirlwind of a vacation that seems like it's over just as soon as it began.

I hope you enjoy your break, Queen Galadriel! And stay young at heart!

What a fun story! Cute that Bilbo was already dressed - you must do more of their Adventure! (I love that you made it a capital A). And cute too that Frodo was already dressed. I assume more sweet, innocent hobbit fun is coming? :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author Reply: Howdy Antane!!

Glad you liked it! Adventures (especially those involving Bilbo and Frodo should always being with a capitol A.)

I don't know why, but as my excitement for my own trip burst forth onto paper, I envisioned Bilbo jumping out of bed fully dressed. I'm happy you liked that little detail.

Hmm, more sweet, innocent hobbit fun. I'm going to have to make an idea list just for you, I think! :D

As much as I like the idea, I can't promise a sequel to this right away, but I will file the idea away for future use. I have one multi-chaptered piece (my Dora story) that I'm trying desperately to finish up so I can start to post it. I've also several other tales started and in varying stages of being completed, including one request by an Antane to write a sequel to 'Extreme Makeovers: Bag End Edition' LOL!! (It's not officially started, but I have several ideas that I'd like to explore with that one) Are you sure there's nothing in particular you'd like to see happen in that story? Just email me if you have an idea you'd like to see included.

I hope you're not too disappointed. But then again, you never know what will happen. I may find sudden inspiration and write a short sequel sooner than I thought too. :D

Excellent - I am so delighted with the countdown - so perfect and it made me feel the anticipatory rush of excitement too!

And I enjoyed your carrying the tale even further to the next generation.

Well done! I hope you have a glorious vacation yourself.

Author Reply: Thank you very much, Agape4Gondor!! I always love to receive feedback from a new reviewer to my writing.

Oh, good! I was really aiming for the reader to feel that rush of excitement, just as I was. I'm glad it worked. I was so excited over the planning of my own trip with no outlet for it to go, that it all suddenly burst forth onto paper one night.

It seemed logical to have Frodo carry on his uncle's "tradition" with his younger cousins. In many ways, it's like a bit of Bilbo being passed on himself.

Thank you for wishing me a glorious vacation. It was!!! Alaska is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommened the cruises that tour up there to anyone in a heartbeat.

Once again, thank you for reading/reviewing and I hope to hear from you again in the future! :)

Grey WondererReviewed Chapter: 1 on 9/12/2006
I loved it. I like the way Frodo gave the experience that he had as with Bilbo to Pippin and Merry.

Author Reply: Thank you, Grey Wonderer. I'm glad you enjoyed! As I replied to Shirebound, even though Frodo wasn't Bilbo's biological child, he was still able to pass many of Bilbo's experiences on through himself to others. Frodo came to realize that those times spent with his beloved uncle were something very special and treasured. He also came to realize that, as Bilbo once wanted to share the experience and joy, so did Frodo too want to pass that on to someone.

Thank you too, for reading and leaving me a review!

I now how they feel - only 10 days to my own vacation - counting down the days with an excited 7 year old... Disneyworld better look out! ^__^

Author Reply: Hi Vampfan30!

HeHe. Isn't the excitement of an upcoming vacation wonderful!!! And then it all passes by so very quickly. Sigh. I think I just spent the quickest 2 weeks of my life. I went on a 9-day Alaskan cruise that left from Canada and docked in L.A. I then took 2 extra days to see Disneyland in California, since I've never been there and the 50th anniversary of the park is almost over. I had such an awesome time with everything!!

I really hope you enjoy your vacation to Disneyworld. It's a place I never tire of and there's so many fun things to do there. 7 is a great age to go there for a first time--kids are able to enjoy it more and they'll also be able to remember their trip later on in life.

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

I love it when Frodo gets to pass on and share the joy and excitement he felt when he got to accompany Bilbo on one of his 'adventures'. And planning is half the fun. :D

Author Reply: You're absolutely right, Shirebound! Planning to go somewhere is half the fun, especially when it's for the first time. I'm so glad you enjoyed Frodo being able to pass along his excitement and joy to his younger cousins. Frodo may not have been Bilbo's biological son, but it's through him that Bilbo (and adventures)lives on. :D

If this is a result of writing in the wee hours may you have many more quiet nights at the hospital. Enjoy your trip. *turns away looking green with envy!*

Author Reply: Hi Harrowcat! I'm back! I very much enjoyed my trip ... thank you for wishing me a good time. A quiet night at the hospital is always a Godsend, but too many of them in a row can make for a rather boring week. Then again, when I have plenty of ideas for hobbity fics, I can never have too much time to write :D

Glad to be back & writing again!
