very touching. i liked seeing sam's thinking evolve, seeing him test out new words as a measure of how he'd changed, and the dinner scene was especially touching. well done.

Author Reply: Thank you docmon! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

You do Sam very well. The poor dear waking from a nightmare and fearing it to be reality. The talk he had with the Ranger was interesting. I love that Frodo included Smeagol as one to be remembered.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: Hi Antane, I'm so glad you enjoyed it and very relieved that my Sam came over O.K. Thanks very much for reviewing!

How I loved this gentle story of loss, acceptance, healing, and sharing. I was delighted by the way you captured Sam's speech and thought patterns and Frodo's wonderful generous and forgiving nature. They are both so wise in such different ways. The story was touching and tender, but you managed just the right amount of humor for it. I do hope that Sam will be able to put at least a bit of that drink into Aragorn's flask.

Author Reply: I'm so glad you enjoyed it Althea. It's my first foray into Frodo and Sam, which was pretty scary. I'm very glad to hear that the tone worked well for you too and that I struck the right balance. I hope that Sam shares as well - I think he probably will ;-)

Thanks for reading and reviewing.

And I, too, see Aragorn keeping his own vigil for those remembered there that night, then accepting his share of the toast in Halbarad's flask, adding him to his private list.

A lovely moment.

Author Reply: Yes, I imagine Aragorn's list is rather long. Thanks for reading and reviewing Larner!

This was a very beautiful and atmospheric story - absolutely lovely. Frodo sharing Galadriel's gift was a wonderful touch, and I liked the tribute to those who gave their lives.
Crafty Strider, wanting some of that special apple brandy! I can just see hime doing that!

Author Reply: Thanks Baggins Babe! I'm really glad you enjoyed it and thanks for letting me know.

some folk just have a knack of making you feel tall – even when you’re small

What a wonderful story! Every voice is just so *right*, and I love experiencing this through Sam's POV. And Frodo bringing out the phial! Absolutely wonderful. None of them will ever forget this very special gathering.

Author Reply: Thank you shirebound! I'm extremely relieved the voices were right for you. I found Sam very hard to write and I really, really didn't want to get him wrong. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reviewing!
