Trolls  by White Wolf 5 Review(s)

Wow - another great, harrowing chapter. Great tension. I couldn't even make notes as I read, for my heart was in my throat as these two suffered torment. I must be glad for little things - at least they are out of the full brunt of the storm!

Author Reply: Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I was aiming for tension and torment. I hope you are back to being relaxed, especially since our guys have found shelter - for the moment. :o)

Whew! I was afraid those boulders they had to climb over were going to be sleeping trolls, or something. What nasty weather this place has! Must be the wettest place on Arda. Poor Legolas, "But, I am an elf!" This is quite an eye-opener for him, usually he is dragging Aragorn along.

Author Reply: I think if the plot bunny had thought of the sleeping troll idea, he'd have put it in the story. :o) I think I live in the wettest place 'in Arda'. It storms here about every other day (bad ones predicted for tonight). Legolas finding he can't climb a rock wall was a real eye-opener for him, not to mention frustrating.

My heart bled for Legolas when he had to face up to the fact that he couldn't climb up to the cave.

It just goes to show how desperate they are if they can call a couple of rocks a shelter. I hope they catch up with their horses soon!

Author Reply: I thought that after the trees wouldn't talk to him, this was another blow to show how bad he felt. It is sad.

I agree. And I imagine those rocks look pretty good after all they've been through. I also hope they and their horses get together soon! :o)

At least there is SOME shelter here, and a level of concealment; plus the returning storm should wash away the signs of their passage. Now, to ride out the storm and FIND THOSE HORSES!

Author Reply: What they have is certainly better than nothing, both in terms of shelter and concealment. We'll see if their trail is washed away or not. :o) I agree. They need to find those horses. We'll see about that, too.

The 'shelter' may be Valar sent but it sounds like they need just a little bit more - food, warmth, medical care etc, etc, etc, etc,........

Author Reply: Considering where they had been, this bit of shelter means a lot to them. I agree that they need all the things you mentioned. We'll see if they get any of it.
