A wonderful bringing of Movie-verse out of Book-verse. To see Merry saving Pippin from the troll only to almost lose him to the Nazgul's fell beast was marvelous, as well as the realization that the presence already of the Black Breath would possibly draw the rest of the Ring-wraiths to Merry to avenge themselves.

And such a wonderful testiment to the love between these two cousins.

A delightful tale, and a good gap filler for movie-verse here. Thanks.

Author Reply: THANK YOU!!!! Now I can watch the movies a little easier, without quite the same intensity of desperate wishes for more M & P scenes... and of course I'm glad you read and enjoyed it all too.

Great story. I loved the way you brought elements of the book into the movie action - the troll, and Gimli spotting hobbit feet. Nice blend of action and emotion, too, and excellent writing.

Favourite line: "Pippin’s breath hitched, once, and then his and Merry’s voices raised as one, yells that weren’t words at all, but battle cries ripped from their throats, forming an assent deeper than civilised speech: Yes! For Frodo! as they raced after their king." Very powerful

Author Reply: Thank you so much for your review! And I'm so glad you picked out a line I'd thought was just "a description to ease the scene transition" as your favorite...there's something nice about being reminded that even those can be necessary, even powerful.

I don't usually read movie-verse stories but this one was good.

Author Reply: Thank you for your review! I'm glad you gave it a chance, even though it is movie-verse. ;-) I too usually read book-verse stories myself, but I do like movie-verse stories that find a way to bring in as much book-stuff as possible that had been left out, a blending of the worlds, I guess (and that's what I tried to do here!).
