Nothing like the heat of summertime to get to a child. But lots of cold water perk things up a bit, good for both elves and kid.

Author Reply: I agree. Swimming was always my favorite way to beat the summer heat as a child. I'm sure Estel was quite glad that Elrond thought of it.

This was really good, Misty! A very enjoyable summer read. By the way, I hope you had a wonderful birthday! :)

Author Reply: Thank you for the review and my birthday was good, thanks. It was so hot, though, that this story came easily to mind. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Sometimes, children are much like plants. To keep one happy, they need to be watered every now and then."

This is great! *grin, grin* And sometimes it is also true that, like plants, too much water can kill them, or so some teens think when asked to bathe!

Happy Birthday dear Misty!

Author Reply: Thanks! Oh, I'm sure Estel's reaction would have been much different if Elrond had pointed him to a bathtub. LOL I'm happy you liked this.

Aha! How I can see this, all all too easily!

Author Reply: :) When the temperatures today reached near 100, this story sprung to mind. A nice cool swimming pool would have been quite nice today. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

"Sometimes, children are much like plants. To keep one happy, they need to be watered every now and then."

This is very sweet. It must be difficult for Elves to understand the frailties of Men, but these three try very hard to do so.

Author Reply: Yes, these three do try very hard to understand this young member of their family. I'm sure Estel is quite happy that Elrond thought to take them all swimming.
