So, Gandalf gave Denethor a pipe? Interesting gift to the Steward's heir, and interesting that he doesn't mind in the least that Faramir's willing to mouth it. Heh!

It is nice to see that Denethor was once a kind father to Faramir.
I loved the hilarious ending.

Yes, I figure he must have had the patience to spend quality time with the two boys when they were very young, even if he may not have later:o

OK, now tell us - WHAT is the long wooden gift with a cup like end, from Gandalf? A drinking ladle? A ball-and-cup game? Spear launcher? Firework stand?

Author Reply: Pipe :)

THAT was fun! And I could just see Faramir's face at the taste of the quill. And Denethor letting him chew on the pipe! Lovely!

Author Reply: thank you:) I'm very glad to hear you liked it.

There was probably some ink still left on that quill... he must ahve wandered around with a blue or black tongue:)

I am not sure that 'kind' is quite the word I would use!

Author Reply: Generous?:))

Awww, this was so sweet! Thank you for writing a sympathetic Denethor! And him letting Faramir demolish Mithrandir's gift was so much evil fun! *g*

Author Reply: I figured of all the things Denethor was willing to forego that must rank the first:)

thank you for reviewing. I'm really glad you liked it:)
