Merrily Spoken  by TopazTook 4 Review(s)

This is adorable! Merry is astonishingly eloquent in this story, even using just 2 words. I like the way you most often expressed the intent and emotion behind his words by describing his actions while he spoke.

Author Reply: Thanks! That's what I was going for -- to show that those two words could mean a lot of different things, in different circumstances.

Aw. Very nicely done, showing the many shades of meaning that a word or two can have, depending on the context.

You grabbed me right in the throat when Gandalf rode away with Pippin.

Thanks!

Author Reply: Thanks; I had fun playing with Merry's "dialogue." (It occurred to me while writing another story that he wasn't saying much but "Oh, Pip" -- and, while I did let him have more actual dialogue in that one, I decided to see if I could write a story where that really is all he says.)

I loved it! Merry does seem to always know what to say. I enjoyed every word.It showed how close they both are.

Author Reply: Thank you! He says a lot with those two little words, doesn't he?

This is a lovely story. Truly, what more does Merry need to say?

Author Reply: Thank you! (Not much, apparently, considering the limits of his dialogue here. ;) )
