And the next chapter is blank!

Author Reply: Chapter 19 is there for me (both in the preview, and the actual chapter). I'm puzzled.

A good reason to beware that which comes from the east, and particularly those who have been too long under Morgoth and Sauron's influence.

Author Reply: It is. Thanks for the review.

These are fabulous! Thanks for including Finrod! I hope to see one from his P.o.V. soon. Have you read HOME: MOrgoth's Ring? (Maybe you could use FInrod or Beren comparing Aegnor/Andreth to Beren and Luthien?) Yeah, I still cannot believe you are going to be writing 100 of these! That is a lot of writing on Beren and Luthien. You must really enjoy the Lay of Luthien! How do you think of all these ideas? It sounds impossible from my view!

Well, Happy writing and Namarie!

Author Reply: I'm glad you liked it. Yes I have read Morgoth's Ring, however by now that was about four years or so ago, so I don't remember the details.

I'm writing off of a Tolkien themed 100 prompts community. If you are interested in finding out more about it, the url is http://fin.yserve.net/arda100/html/home.htm. It's not so much that I enjoy the lay, although I do, as when I was looking at the table of prompts, I could see stories for most of them involving Luthien.

Thanks for reading.

I am glad that Luthien is giving Finrod and his companions their due in helping them achieve the Quest of the Silmaril. Isn't it amazing that where the numerous armies of the Noldor, Sindar and mortal Atani had failed, a Quest that included 14 members only (if I counted correctly) succeeded?????? Burying the body of King Finrod Felagund must have been one of the most tragic parts of the lay.

I forgot but did you already write a short story of how Thingol felt at Finrod's death? How Galadriel felt at the news of her eldest brother's death? If not will you write one please then? Please????????????

Namarie...

Author Reply: Thanks. Yes that is one of the amazing things.

I haven't written the one you asked about. I'll think about those though. Doing a hundred stories concerning Luthien is turning out to be rather a challenge, and is taking far longer than I though.

You have made Luthien sound so wise and fit to be the daughter of Melian in truth. I agree with her that does it not sound strange to begin a war over jewels even if they contain the light of the Two Trees that shall never after be... I like the wisdom that you give her when she realizes that though their son shall inherit a precious heirloom, that very heirloom will ruin and kill him.

Namarie...

Author Reply: Thank you. With the wisdom of Melian to learn from, it would be hard for her not to be wise.

I'm glad you like my stories.

Yes, the jewel was in his hand, but his hand is now elsewhere. It now strikes me just how similar this is to what happened to Frodo--the Ring still on his finger but the finger bitten off just as happened with Beren's hand. At least in the case of the amputation with Frodo it freed him from a worse fate than he'd known so far.

Author Reply: I thought the technicality of the oath being fulfilled that way was an interesting one. I hadn't even thought of the similarity to Frodo though. Thanks for pointing it out.

Nay, his fate is worse and more glorious than mere death.

Excellent images here.

Author Reply: Thank you for the review and the complement.

Promises kept are important.

Author Reply: Yes they are. Thanks for reviewing.

An apt tale for such a challenge, I must say. Alas for Finrod.

Author Reply: Thank you.

Elves never dreamt mortals could achieve what the Man Beren accomplished; and two ages later Men never dreamt Halflings could do what was done by Frodo and Sam. The Elves perhaps had better hope, having learned the lesson taught by Illuvitar through Beren.

Author Reply: I'd not thought of it like that, but that view works well. Thanks for reading the story.
