Light from the West  by Armariel 4 Review(s)

Ah, children! Poor Seragon, but he'll find it's worthwhile.

Author Reply: Oh yes...well, he already knows it, I'm sure. As I told someone else, Frodo speaks a few of my own thoughts here, since I have no children and am not likely to, and like him I can reach no conclusions. But he does get an inkling, at least, and it should help him to grow in spirit, even though he feels keenly his being forever consigned to the periphery of humanity, able only to observe and participate very little, and tries to find compensation as best as he can.

yay! More story! *gobbles it up* :)
This was very sweet, but sad too with Frodo thinking about children and how he'll never have any :(
Wonderful as always, Armariel - thanks for the update!!! *hugs*

Author Reply: You're most welcome Dearie! Yes, he'd have made a fine dad, I'm sure! But, being childless myself, and likely to remain so, I've had some of the same thoughts he has been having, and saw fit to put them into the story. And like himself, I've come to no real conclusions.

Thanks for reviewing, and so glad you're enjoying the story!

Poor Marilen! It's not really her fault - I can understand Frodo not reacting too well when he was worried about Lyrien, but he should have done something to comfort the other child involved in this!

Good think Elrond came straight away. And I loved Frodo's cunning method of getting Lyrien to drink the hot tea.

And his cunning plan for keeping Bilbo with him for as long as possible.

Author Reply: He should have, and he will...in the next part. Yes, probably should have in this part, and I did have him going out to look for her originally, but scratched it out thinking the chapter was getting too long (I don't like to have chapters much over 4000 words, and this one was getting on for 5000!) and settled for Lyrien's mom bringing her in.

I imagine Frodo got considerable practice in Brandy Hall in his youth persuading balky children to take their medicine! And I should imagine he's learning some lessons in patience from the Elves...which will surely pay off richly in the end!

He would have made a wonderful father, wouldn't he have? :)

Namarie, God bless, Antane

Author Reply: Yes...good instincts and good genes! A pity it's not to be, but there are wounded souls all over the Island and he'll have a hand in healing some, so his potential won't all be wasted!:):)
