In the vignette of taking Salme near the waterfall and playing the harp for her, and then her reciprocating, you have left a second great pearl in this story. Again, thank you. Author Reply: You are most welcome! Yes, I hardly think he can achieve his salvation just by sitting on the beach all day or chasing butterflies or watching sunsets or even by making poetry, although of course that's part of it...it comes first from listening and then from doing, and passing on what he has learned himself, and both allowing and assisting the other person to grow in his or her own way and pace. Then the two souls are able to lead each other to the light. | |

| I'm glad Aredhel is coming round. She just needed a bit of straight talking and a chance to grow up a bit - and see that she's not the centre of the universe. And if she heard that, she'll be looking at Alcandor rather differently from now on! And almost anyone will be better for her than Rûdharanion. He might have improved a lot, but he's still desperately shallow. Or something. Author Reply: Or something, yes....Have to admit I did play around with the idea of getting them back together eventually (even before you suggested it;);)) but then I finally decided, Nahhhh...just wouldn't work! Or the Muse decided it, or whoever (it really does feel as if it comes from outside of me and I am just taking dictation, or something...) Yeah, he still needs more straightening out before he's ready to settle down. He's not exactly husband material yet! And I'll bet Aredhel will be looking a bit sharper at Alcandor, and watching for his good points, and perhaps conclude pretty soon that despite surface appearances he's really a bit of all right.........:D ~~~{~@ | |
