I must say, I rather enjoyed that first chapter! The commentary on the incompetence of the postal service of the Shire was amusing... it reminded me of some commentaries I've heard about my own country's post office system! Or at least, my college's. Your Frodo letter definitely does mirror the communication style of the canon Frodo.
Author Reply: I am glad you enjoyed that! I based the postal service problems on my home state ;). We always had to wait a week for mail to cross the border from the neighboring state, even though it was quite close. Frodo's letter was hard for me to write, so I am glad to hear you think I got it "right". |
