Oasis  by Radbooks 4 Review(s)

Aha--indeed a nice bit of Aragorn Angst here. I do love Aragorn, btw, as you well know! Heh! Like to see him checking out the crack for scorpions and other problems before he creeps into it himself. Very nice.

Author Reply: I had noticed that you like Aragorn! I sort of have a thing for him myself. ;) Glad you liked Aragorn checking that crack out for scorpions, I know those things like to get out of the sun and those are just icky little things. *shudders* Glad you enjoyed this and that it came across well, it's hard for me to write something so short. In fact, I couldn't even post it on the board because it went over by about 170 words! Short stories are not my forte. :) Thanks for reviewing.

This was really good. A lack of water in the desert would definitely be a problem. I'm glad he found that oasis. ;-)

Author Reply: I'm glad that you enjoyed it, although it went over by so many words that I couldn't even post it on the Aragorn Angst board! :) Maybe on the next challenge I can do better... I really did try hard on this one.

What? Complete? Well I suppose so and this is great but really.... you can't whet our appetites, (or should that be wet our whistles?) and then leave it there!!! *g*

More...more...more...

well, ok! Pleeeeeeeeeeese!

Author Reply: Laughing here. Well, this was for a challenge and I couldn't even post it on the board because I went over by almost 200 words... I'm no good at short stories! I really have no plans to take it any further than this, however I do plan on writing a Thorongil fic in the future and I could incorporate this into that story. So unless something really strikes me as to where this might go, it will have to stay here.

Thorongil fic! Crossing the desert, low on water! Aiee, I love it!

*thinks of Hidalgo* Glad that Aragorn didn't have to worry about his horse this time, and that you didn't make him eat bugs!

Sorry that I'm apparently incapable of writing a useful review at this time, but wanted to let you know that I'm reading. (Also that I enjoyed the latest chapter of Brothers at Heart and have it on my list to review, but am so behind on work that I have doubts that I'm going to get to it before the next chapter comes out). Ugh, work is seriously eating into my fandom time!

Author Reply: I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Hidalgo never even crossed my mind as I wrote this piece, though I guess that it could have made that leap and for some reason I just couldn't see him with a horse here either, but rather wandering on foot in this section of Harad.

I understand how real life cuts into our fun. Glad you're still enjoying Brothers at Heart and hopefully the new chapter will be out late tonight or early in the morning.
