| The cow game doesn't seem to work quite as well as counting different coloured cars - I have to agree with Elbeth, it could get tedious. Mind you, she revelled in Faramir's praise. She needs approval for her achievements. It's a good job they have arrived at their refuge - Aragorn needs rest and to see that Arwen and Eldarion are safe and Faramir needs Eowyn. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I would imagine counting cows was tedious,especially if they look as alike as the ones I've seen do ! Elbeth has grown on me.She was only originally intended to be mentioned in Shadow and Thought but demanded to be given a larger role ! Our poor heroes do badly need a safe haven. | |

| Thank the Valar, it looks as if they have found their wives at the farm of the loyal Damrod's sister. I am extremely glad, as I doubt our miserable King and Steward could make it through another chapter without assistance, and even Elbeth can doubtless use a bath, some clean clothes, and some bread and jam. | At last, our heroes are getting real light at the end of the tunnel. Very real tensions described here, between Aragorn and Faramir, even spilling over in Aragorn's annoyance with Elbeth. Aragorn plainly is exhausted in all respects. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. I fear our heroes are getting to the end of their tethers,especially Aragorn who needs to be in bed tended by a healer. | |
